Mother Nature at it’s Pure Best 💚
Aug 2020 • Friends
We had friends visiting, one of whom loves waterfalls, so as a team of four we took them on the four waterfalls route, it was raining & had been for a few days so the flow was fast and rivers full, which was probably the best time to view as not only beautiful but also less crowds.
You really do need sensible footwear, I cannot express how many people we passed wearing good trainers, even a lady in sandals with side holes in, all squelching around, looking miserable as they had wet dirty feet. its muddy if it’s been raining and you will come across small streams & big muddy puddles in the trail so be prepared and it makes it even more enjoyable.
We took just over 3 hours to complete the whole route & wasn’t pushing it & taking in plenty of picture opportunities. There are lots of steps, the routes are clearly marked and mapped well, liked the railway sleepers used on the boggy bits, makes access so much better & cleaner! We were all blown away by the beauty of all waterfalls and surrounding areas. I especially was in awe of the tree roots in the area really detailed. Thoroughly enjoyed by all & would return again. Doesn’t cost anything to visit the waterfalls apart from a £4 car park fee. Founded it easy to park.

Waterfall Country
Oct 2019
There are a couple of options for walks starting from Pontneddfechan. A good trail starts from a small parking area next to the Angel Inn and follows the river to a viewpoint where you can see Sgwd Gwladus, a nice waterfall. From there you can return a short distance then cross the bridge and continue upstream on a rough path past a series of other powerful waterfalls.

A stunning walk
Sep 2019
This is a walk I most certainly will repeat soon. Even on a damp misty day, this area is wonderful scenic area to spend a day. We had good waterfalls which means damp muddy paths, so what, the two go together. The trees give you good cover here. Please go and see this place for yourself, its wonderful

Lovely place

Love this place, waterfalls everywhere near the footpath. Nice setting. Can be dangerous in bad weather (slip and trip hazards)

Tough walk at times but worth it
Mar 2019 • Friends
My partner and I took our dog out for a long walk as were staying at the Riverside Pods in Carmarthenshire.
The walk at times can be challenging and I saw people with young children - that would have been tough.
But the waterfalls are beautiful and I'd never been here before or heard of them even though I'm from South West Wales.
A Saturday well spent.

Four waterfalls walk
Jan 2019 • Couples
A wonderful walk in the Brecon Beacons taking in four very different waterfalls. Three are quite small, but the last one was the best! Large and very spectacular and you could walk behind the falling water which was amazing. Some of the terrain was quite challenging but provided a good workout! Really enjoyable!

Gorge walking
Mar 2018 • Friends
Walked around here whilst others were gorge walking. If you take path to the right from car park it is a relatively gentle walk to the waterfalls and the wormhole which the gorge walkers had crawl through. There is also a rock face which is used by boulderers who carry large square cushions and lay them on the ground below the cliff. There is a nice tea shop near by

Different route for SWYD YR EIRA waterfall
Apr 2017 • Couples
The carpark is at the base of Dinas rock, the path goes up hill from dinas rock and goes through the forest and can be very wet and boggy in wet weather but very enjoyable to be in the wilds, follow the trail up the valley and you will come to the path down to the waterfall which you can walk behind and go up the otherside and continue on a different walk back to carpark which is quite a long water, after seeing the waterfall go back up the path and at the top you can go left up the hill and heading towards Penderyn village and as you get to top of hill near Penderyn the path then goes right back towards Dinas Rock, this is a nice different walk through the woods.

Optional car park for water falls walk
Aug 2016 • Couples
Just be aware that this car park closes at 5pm so if you are doing the full waterfall walk you could end up being locked in.
We took 5.5 hours to do the two circular walks linking both.

Dinas Rock

From the car park, walk to the right of the rock for about 10 mins to get to the water cascades. It's a lovely walk for older people as it's flat and easy going, walking under the trees.
