Worth a visit but needs development / more funding.

Incredible place local to me with loads of history. I would recommend a visit but it's just a shame that more money hasn't been invested in this place, especially when you consider its historical significance.

Family Afternoon Out
Aug 2021
Good hour out for free if you have an interest in old structures and buildings. One improvement could be to add more information around the property to tell you about each area.

We enjoyed walking around Neath Abbey.
This must of looked amazing back in it's day. It is free to get in and has free audio to listen to. Well worth a visit and you can take your dog.

Larger Than Expected
Nov 2019 • Couples
Impressive and larger than expected set of ruins, which provide a glimpse of what must have been a very grand set of monastic buildings. The site has a number of talking information points that provide background and details of abbey life.

At the time of this writing please note that several of the areas are fenced off for ongoing repair works which will keep this a place of enjoyment for years to come. There is, however, still plenty to explore.

Free entry. Dog friendly. Plentiful parking spaces along the street by the main abbey entrance.

Well worth a visit.

Not many people realize such an amazing place in Neath!!
The place is not big, but with substantial ruins.
Free of charge and is easy to reach by bus from Swansea.

Very ancient and historic place.. Quite close to neath and easily reachable by public transportation.. Great site and interesting structure some are crumbling and some are just stunting to watch them.. Take us to olden era... Artistic expression

An impressive ruin
Sep 2019
This is one of Cadw's free entry sites. There are lots of areas of this historic abbey to explore. This may not be as intact as Tintern Abbey but it is in fact larger. There is scaffolding around a few areas as of writing but it is still a great site to take pictures. On sunny days, it is an ideal picnic spot as there are a few grassy areas. Overall, a fantastic ruin for history enthusiasts to explore for an hour.
