Built in 2011. It is the biggest and modern stadium arena in Central America. It has a capacity of about 35,000 visitors to enjoy a sports match, mainly socer, and other events like music concerts. Built by the Chinese Government. It also has big screens at the sides. You can plan a visit if you are traveling to Costa Rica.... More

A circle with two flat arches bent over it. A simple design, but what a marvelous sight. The spacious setting with the parque La Sabana on its Eastern side is also contributing to the effect. A modern structure from 2004. I understood a gift from the Chinese government to solicit goodwill.

Went for USAvCRC. Spectators make the atmosphere but the track killed some of it. Walking in, massive crowds and can't see where you step and you suddenly drop because there are steps. Not tall steps, but enough to kill your knee or ankle. Simple purse check to get in. No alcohol was allowed (not surprised). Had to use a certain... More

I was at Guns n Roses and the stadium was full. The Staidium itself its a first world experience, they have a lot of security and during the concert they only sold beer without alcohol and it was not allowed to smoke too. This is a very good way to respect the stadium and the culture. The sound of the... More

I was lucky enough to attend the Costa Rica vs. USA qualifier. The final score was 4-0 to the hosts and that result ultimately cost Juergen Klinnsmann his job.... The atmosphere was amazing for the whole game - part celebration part national pride. The stadium itself - 5 years and built as a gift by the government of China -... More

This stadium was donated by the government of China to Costa Rica. It is very modern and is used not just for matches but for other activities. Worth visiting.

This stadium was not here when I lived in Costa Rica twenty-five years ago! I attended the FIFA Costa Rica vs. Panama Soccer Match on September 6th. The stadium is designed in such a way that EVERY seat is perfection! The staff are very well organized. Everyone had a super time from start to finish. We walked from the Apartotel... More

This modern stadium constructed primarily for soccer is an architectural marvel of simplicity. Twin crescent-shaped roofs shield fans from scorching sun, yet allow cross ventilation and an open concept. Constructed in 2011, it is Central America’s first modern stadium seating 35,175 visitors. There’s a 1,700-square-foot high-definition screen for those in the cheap seats☺ It was used to host matches of... More

Beautiful stadium built by the Chinese for about $110 million and given to Costa Rica. Holds about 35,000 people. A great addition to the city

As others have said this was a "gift" from China. It has an interesting political storyline...of course no one just GIVES things like this away for free so the Costa Ricans had to give some concessions to the Chinese. I had a very interesting detailed conversation with a taxi driver on the way and got a lot more of the... More
