Brilliant gardens recently featured on Gardeners World. I did prefer Hunte's Gardens but that is personal preference. Had a nice chat with an English girl who works there and who was very friendly and helpful. Not the easiest place to find, road signs in Barbados seem to be a treasure hunt of their very own.

Thank you for coming and enjoying this 'brilliant' garden! I always recommend that visitors try to visit all the gardens in Barbados. There are not too many but all are wonderful! Andromeda is the oldest and created by the multi-award winning Iris Bannochie as a private botanic retreat, with an unparalleled collection of plants. It is a historic and botanic... More

Came here as part of a tour. Visitors are given a guide to a self guided trail. The signage and pathways are generally good, but we got a little confused towards the end on how to complete the tour. The garden has a gift shop. It would be helpful if the National Trust of Barbados could tell visitors how to... More

We last visited about 20 years ago and it's just as beautiful as I remember it! If you're a RHS member in U.K., take your membership card as you'll get free entry!

Thank you for your review. A lot has changed in 20 years, the garden is now mature and I hope it matches Iris' vision. But yes, it is still beautiful. I am glad you returned and I hope you do not leave it so long to make another visit. Yes - Andromeda Botanic Gardens is a Partner Garden of the... More

These gardens are spectacular and beautifully laid out. The information sheets they give you when you enter guide around the site and describe the plants and their habitat without resorting to just their Latin names as happens in some gardens. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Can thoroughly recommend the lemon, lime and ginger cocktail in the cafe at... More

Thank you so much for your review - amazing gardens indeed! The sheer variety is incredible and the design is simply perfect! I am glad you found the information sheet useful. Lemon and ginger plus a measure of white rum = Zinger - refreshment with a buzz! Thanks again. Regards Sharon More

We chose the medium length tour which was great for a family of adults, healthy seniors, and a baby. The tour map was easy to follow and provided adequate interesting details. The staff were very warm and friendly. The plants, especially the jade vine and all the different types of palms, were very worth seeing.

We had an enjoyable few hours in these interesting and well kept gardens, armed with our sheet which took us round giving information on many of the plants, we were even lucky enough to glimpse a couple of hummingbirds. Well worth a visit.

Thank you for coming and enjoying this special garden! I am glad you glimpsed some hummingbirds. Monarch butterflies are here at the moment - perhaps even more mesmerizing than our feathered friends! Thanks again. Regards Sharon. More

Others come learn a lot from the well laid out path, the guide sheets, chairs in shady spots and range of plants. Add the good café and cake. perfect -- a nice relaxing 2 hours and good exercise too. (take water with you)

We visited on a Sunday afternoon around 2.15pm in the middle of March and were quite surprised that there was only one other car here. The gardens are quite well signposted - for Barbados, but the roads round here are quite a challenge but that is not the fault of the Gardens. Only two staff were around the whole complex... More

Walked the long self guided tour. Very informative. Helpful staff. Small gallery with paintings from a local artist... most enjoyable. Lunch available although we did not take it. Area to sit and relax. Would recommend highly.
