We drove maybe 400 miles south on Mex1 starting in Tijuana. Once you get on the toll road and start heading south from TJ you'll see beautiful beaches and open space. South of Ensenada you start to get the feel for the vast open landscape. South of San Quintin and you enter into the beautiful desert with it's abundant species... More

I have returned from Mexico. Over 2,300 miles (4,000 + km) through Mexico's spell-bounding Baja Peninisula states of Baja California and Baja California Sur. Desert, tropics, military checkpoints, cabelleros, wild cattle and horses, 40 ft tall cacti, arroyos, Pacific ocean and the Sea of Cortez. We drove from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas, the entire length of MEX Hwy 1.... More

This is my first trip to the Baja (San Jose del Cabo to be precise). I was expecting a desireable location... its not! Its a desert where the roads are terrible and there is nothing nice to look at. Dead shrubs and cacti and dogs and cows and garbage everywhere. If you plan to stay at your all-inclusive, then you... More
