Experiences are worth far more than money....that being said, this was the most money I've spent diving anywhere in the world. The experience here at The Cortez Club was amazing, no doubt. We were treated to a whale shark snorkel and 4 dives (Los Isolates, El Bajito, Fang Ming, and San Rafaelito), seeing Whale Sharks on the snorkel trip, lucked... More

Though this isn't a diving experience, it is first hand, up close nature at its best. It is a 2 and 1/2 hour drive from La Paz to Lopez Mateo, but they make the long day pleasant with local stops for breakfast and lunch. They arrange the panga drivers and use their extensive local knowledge to get the best viewing... More

Cortez Club in La Paz was fantastic. The staff was wonderful and so professional. I dove with them for 4 days and would absolutely use them and recommend them easily and with confidence.

IN SHORT: I'd absolutely recommend scuba in La Paz. My experience with this operator gives me significant concerns around safety, honesty, and value. BAD: * Faulty equipment. All of their equipment we saw seems pretty worn down, and it's reflected by 4 of the 5 people in my group having equipment issues. My BCD bottom air dump snapped right off... More

We had inquired for several activities with this operater and made the huge mistake to book one two-tank dive without specifically asking for the price. As a result, we had to cancel every other activity altogether, because they ripped us out of almost 500 USD, and we did not have the money any more for any other activity!!! So basically,... More

Went out for 2 dives one day. Sea lions on los islotes and a wreck dive. Dea lions were fantastic, they play with you and are very friendly. Wreck dive was our first, saw some fish but not great. Second day went snorkeling with whale sharks, we had lots of encounters,it was great. They were very respectful of the animals... More

We are divers that booked a last minute trip to snorkel with the whale sharks. One of the most amazing experiences! Our guide, Lorenzo, took the time to find the whale sharks. While other boats sat clustered around one whale shark, Lorenzo took us out farther where we were surrounded by 6 at one time and no other boats! Had... More

Our first day diving with Cortez club was fantastic. We rented our BCDs and our gear was well organized on the boat. Our dive master on the first day, Alejandra, was FANTASTIC and our pre-dive brief on point. Our second day was not as great - our dive master was new and not super helpful or knowledgeable, and not decisive... More

My wife and I decided to go scuba diving for the first time. We walked into the cortez club and they were able to get us scheduled for the day we wanted to go. They were very helpful going through the safety check. My wife had never done anything like this before and was very nervous. The staff was very... More
