Upon arriving in Mazatlan, I had my vehicle inspected and was surprised how easy the procedure was. The ferry left about 6.30pm without failure. I had a cabin reserved for the overnight cruise, and the staff was very friendly and courteous. The cabin itself was very clean and fresh. After putting my stuff away, I went up to the top deck... The trip between topolobambo and la paz was more than 30 h delayed. That was not the worst part though. They squeezed in the passengers from the delayed (fully booked) ferry together with next days (fully booked) ferry. There was no info and as you can imagen there were 2 people per seat and per cabine... people were behaving like... More

First, know that I'm not a "roughing it" kind of girl, so I was worried about taking the Ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan. We paid extra for a room, thank goodness, but many people just bring blankets and sleep on the floor or in chairs. The trip was 11-12 hours long, but we slept peacefully on bunk beds in... More

I am going to try and be detailed for those of you wanted all the info. My husband and I rode our motorcycle down to La Paz from the states and took Baja Ferry (specifically Baja Star) across the Sea of Cortez to Mazatlan back in late January. It was a 12 hour ferry, departing at 8pm and arriving at... More

WOW! I asked a friend who lives in the area what to expect. He said that it'd been years since he'd traveled the crossing there, but that he remembered it as spartan and not to expect too much. He missed it by miles. The experience was wonderful. TOPO-LA PAZ I had a cabin on the way over to La Paz... More

Fairly basic seating. Bad food. Long wait to get tickets, long wait to get off once docked, then again for baggage. Needs to be streamlined.

The cargo ferry sails every other day when the passenger ferry is not available. We were warned the service was subpar. We spent the night in a chase-lounge in a common area. The snorers were sometimes annoying. The food could be characterized as grub and certainly needs improvement. We wanted to arrive to Mazatlan as soon as possible so under... More

Dirty, Disorganized, freezing cold room with broken thermostat, shower wouldn't drain. I can't say enough bad about the experience with 2 exceptions: Great Tequila selection & good dinner. They only make some announcements in English AND when checking in they don't tell you won't time you'll need to depart, consequently they suddenly announce you have to leave your cabin (we... More

After many years of wanting to take the ferry, my wife and I finally boarded at Mazatlán, in mid-February 2017, to sail to La Paz. I think there are at least 2 ferries available. We embarked as passengers; no car; and, all in all, it was a good experience. Here are the pertinent items: * I purchased our cabina tickets... More

Generally the ferry was ok. We took a room for us with children to sleep on the way from Mazatlan to La Paz and back. The ferry itself is not new. But everything was surprisingly clean. In the night it was a bit cool because there were just thin blankets and you don't expect to get cold after the day... More
