We solo parked at this beach, and when we left our rental car, always leave it empty, windows down, doors unlocked(so they don't break the windows). We saw this guy, Juan pull up, then went for a 2 hour beach walk. When we returned, he got out of his car and told us bad people were by our car, and... More

My daughter, grand daughter, and I went to see the baby turtles released at sunset. We were treated to a very special event. What they are doing to save the turtles is a wonderful effort. We were very lucky to be part of it and the girls were thrilled.

One of the most beautiful and quiet beaches we have ever enjoyed! The ocean is rough and beat for surfing and beach walks. I doubt children would enjoy the beach as the waters are rough and not safe. There is a Turtle Conservation area that was pretty amazing to see. Very little in the way of parking spaces, the beach... More

This turtle hatchery is down the way from my house. When they release the babies from November through March it's spectacular. Check out the website. If you're here you can volunteer to babysit nests and hatchlings. Awesome.

It's a short drive from town and lots of fun...why not go! The beach is beautiful so lots to enjoy just being there. Take a picnic and stay awhile.

We took part in a turtle release and it was a great experience. The group was a mixture of young families, couples, single travellers to seniors and it seemed as though everyone enjoyed watching the little turtles make there way to the sea. I will point out two things that I thought were negative, the first was the lady running... More

At the time of our visit, the waves were over 12 feet tall. The wasn't a sole on the beach as the row after row of huge waves came pounding onto the beach. It was an amazing power to experience.

Highly recommend checking this out! Volunteers were great, and while the women who runs this program is doing a lot of great things for he turtles it could be organized a bit better...During one release she did a short presentation, another night she didn't, lack of sizes in the t-shirts they sell, and her kids seemed to man handle the... This project is incubating Leatherback nests (and olive ridley) during winter months when natural incubation fails. The volunteers work round the clock to rescue nests, and career for hatchlings. Local kiddos are even involved in the project so they can continue the conservation in the future!
