Beautiful beaches, Ramadas (beach restaurants) good swimming on a long, flat, sandy beach with lots of activities, including a Saturday Tienda (market) in the town of Santiago. The Peninsula juts out along a lagoon, where if you take the rustic road out to (resorts) Vida del Mar and/or Las Palmas you will feel like you are in a jungle wilderness.

Here's a place that we would never have discovered had it not been for a snorkeling trip we booked while on a Princess cruise to the Mexican Riviera. The snorkeling trip booked through Aquatic Adventures, which was one of the best ever, uses this beach to launch from on their dive trips. This secluded spot on the north side of... More

We hired a local man to show us around the Santiago area and then take us to old town Manzanillo. He took us on all manner of streets up and down the peninsula to a secluded beach and some little known family-owned hotels and also past the fabulous large hotels/resorts and condos. Along the way he explained some of the... More

We're not fans of gated communities and it seems many occupy this peninsula. Still, it's worth a winding drive to see the hillside enclaves on this peninsula that separates Santiago Bay and Manzanillo Bay..

Santiago is a nice, long bay, great for walks and swimming. The beach is rough on the east end but is swimmable closer to the hill on the west end. Can get very crowded on local holidays and weekends.

Hidden away beach. There are local vendors, Beach chair & umbrella rentals $150 MX. Coconut drinks are over-priced. Warm waters that are easy to swim & soak in. Great day at the beach overall.

Do not recommend. Did not feel safe in the city of Manzanillo, Mexico. Walked around the city and quickly return to cruise boat after seeing young men with guns and the Mexican Federallies just a couple block away from the cruise ship dock.

This area is beautiful at sunset and very popular in the daytime with swimmers, sunbathers and a few surfers. There is a flea market in this area that sell clothing and misc items.

The Santiago peninsula is removed from Manzanillo centro and the port - which is a good thing. The Peninsula is home to many condos, hotels and private homes. La Punta is a high end gated community. Las Hadas is a condo/hotel, has a marina, and many good restaurants. A great condo complex is El Faro at the top of the... More
