- Jenni N1 contributionWas....okZip lining was on my bucket list and I begged my sisters to go with me. I had an amazing time, all of the guides were friendly and encouraging. The downside to this excursion was when we were leaving and an employee made pig grunting noises as we walked past. Grow up!Visited February 2023Written 20 February 2023
- roughridersrule28 contributionsA must visit when you are in the PV areaOne of our favourite places to visit anytime we are in the PV area. A couple of our family went zip lining and really enjoyed it! Good view from the restaurant and the waterfall is Crystal clear! You have to climb up around the side to get to the natural rock water slide.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 March 2023
- Carlton B4 contributionsJungle TripWe took the eden trip as part of a package purchased for about 50 dollars per person.. The first stops where at the seaside boardwalk and at the church in the downtown area. The church is beautiful and definetly worth a look. We then stropped briefly at a jewelry shop which was a relief as it has ac. They also provide drinks The trip to Eden takes about an hour with one stop at a tequilla shop. After that the trip on the bus becomes harrowing on a dirt road with twist and turns up a mountain side. There were times when the bus began to lean and I thought for sure that we were going to slide down the side of the mountain. After that ride everything was kind of anti climatic. Its a jungle resort with good food, the platter is a great deal and will feed a family of four for about 86 dollars with drinks. The tour trip dos not allow a lot of time for much other than the meal and few pictures and a brief trip down to the river. Bring bug spray and find some shade while you are there because it is hot and humid. Also If you want to spend more time and take in all that this resort has to offer you should take a taxi.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 31 July 2023
- NsharapaProvo, Utah3 contributionsLong time in the truckThe Zipline experience was fun and safe but was more of a walk and less time than others we have done in Puerto Vallarta and Hawaii. This took one hour and then we had one hour to swim in a waterfall which was very nice. The drive to the ziplines took almost two hours each way from Nuevo Vallarta (would be like 1 hour if you stay in Puerto Vallarta). This long, bumpy drive and the unadvertised stop at a tequilera for an hour were big cons for our party. We would do another company next time because we lived in Nuevo Vallarta and our party does not drink. Good price...Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 August 2023

- RetiredinMexico200511 contributionsNot worth the time to get thereUnless you are going to zipline it is a long journey over a very poor trail to get there. Upon arrival we were charged a $50mx per person fee to enter and they said if we ate in the restaurant it would be refunded. We stayed for a couple of hours, and when we left upon asking tor the entrance refund we were told sorry. So unless you are going to participate in the ziplines it is an awful ride to get there to see a very small pool of water next to the restaurant.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 September 2023

Waitress were rude, included the tips with out explaining why they were charging so much for the food we pay $150 dollars for four person the food was very expensive and not good. The trip was beautiful on the way to the river but is not worth it! They take you to a Tequila Destilería they do a presentation for you and expect that you buy Tequila. I felt like we were the product, they were expecting for us to expend money left and right especially if they knew you are traveling out of the country and bring dollars:( NOT RECOMMENDED!

Came for day one for a little hike with my brother- came back for the whole next day on my own. Touristy but nice entrance- but the amazing hikes and immersions in nature couldn’t be beat. I sat by a freshwater waterfall under the trees for hours without seeing another soul. So refreshing for the spirit.

Terrible Very rude staff. We went with a group of 10 people. Right off the start the rude lady was asking if we have guns ,drugs, cocane , we were offended. Then they tried to argue and tell us we never paid the full admission and need to pay more if we all wanted to sit at a table. They allowed 4 of our group a table then telling us they were full and no tables were available meanwhile all the tables were mostly empty.a
As we left we tried to tell the management that is stupid on your part as if you allowed us a table we would have all purchased food and beers but because they never allowed us a place to sit and they were rude to us we never even bought a beer. Because of the rude staff we also never bought any Tequila, food, beers or a souvenir. Shame on you guys and i hope the owner of this business FIRES all of you for treating thier customers with disrespect....

We've been going to El Eden for 35 years. They have added several activities such as zip lines, but they still have the river, the same restaurant with the familiar impressive huge palapa roof, and the area to dine overlooking the river pool area and waterfall. They also have good food.
My grown kids have such fond memories of swimming there in the summers and they still have to go back to El Eden every time they are in PV. This time they did climb up to the waterfall with the oldest grandson...(a first for him!), which no longer has the ladder inside the hole in the rock. You just have to climb up, carefully.
They also used to have a swinging rope for swinging out over the river and jumping into the river. It was washed away during a huge amount of rain and flooding during the last year. But you can still jump from the side in the restaurant where the rope used to be. My guys had a blast this trip just using the natural waterfall "slide". The water is cold in December!
Most of my family ordered the fish on a skewer, and it was tremendous. This was the best fish I had in a month's stay in PV. I don't even know what it was, but it tasted like Snapper. I had figured it would be Mahi Mahi, but it didn't taste like it. Either way, it was so perfect with only butter or oil, and grilled to tender moist perfection.
There were veggies and rice on the side. I don't remember what the price was, but it was worth every bite. Sometimes we share when we're there, and the restaurant doesn't mind.
They will help you find a ride back down the mountain if there aren't any taxi driver's in the parking lot.
El Eden is best visited on weekdays and before the tour buses begin heading up there. So try to arrive by noon. When we were there, no large buses appeared this time. It's a very pleasant place with the sound of the waterfall in the background.
If you go in the summer, you'll love the refreshing cool river water. It has a mostly sandy bottom. Just be careful getting in since the cement and rock steps can be a little slippery.
It's an interesting ride up the mountain through the jungle, and very pleasant once you're there. For those who have mobility challenges, there are a lot of stairs (2 sets - one long and one shorter) to get down to the portion of the restaurant that is right next to the river. But you can stop before that and sit on the level above.
My husband uses a cane, and he made it, he was determined to see our favorite early Vallarta years place again. Note that there is a good handrail, and they will give you an extra hand if needed. And do use insect repellent since you'll be in the jungle.
