This review is for the Rio Cuale Tour. Tour was 205 dollars for 6 of us. We are a family of 5 so we had to pay extra. It was either 4 people for 185, or 6 people for 205. We arrived a tad before 1:30 since they were strict on timing. There were a lot of people waiting around and it was very chaotic to figure out who was going where. A woman came out with a clipboard and had us sing in. They moved us over to a sitting area where there was nowhere to sit and were asked to grab helmets. These helmets were thrown everywhere and as soon as a tour ended, we realized they throw a new pile on top WITHOUT cleaning them. Half the children’s ones were broken (strap) so our 8-year old daughter had to wear an adult sized one. It was about 90 degrees out and sweaty gross, needless to say, I was dying making the kids wear these. A nice gross sweaty helmet. Finally guy comes out and gives instructions, separates us into groups and asks us to get in a car. We see everyone else is wearing googles. He says they’ll be more shortly. Again we wait for another group to finish and throw their goggles in a pile so we can use them. If that still doesn’t gross you out, then I don’t know what will. We ended up leaving about 15-20 minutes after the official start time. The tour itself was ok. Like other reviewers said, no need to stop and the tequila tasting. That was just a waste of time. They took us to the waterfall after the tequila tasting where we were only allowed to be for 25 minutes. Totally not worth it with a large group since by the time you get down to jump in, it’s pretty much time to leave. The good thing is that they don’t force you to stay at the restaurant (third stop) and whoever wants to leave, is taken back in a group. There were only a few that stayed, maybe the company should take note of that. If I were to do this again, I’d just hire a taxi or private driver to take me to the waterfall and back. There were several people at the waterfall that did not come with our group.
