Ecotours Mexico is a small, family owned and operated Eco- Travel and Adventure Tour company that started operating in 1991, which makes them pioneers among the eco- tour operators in the country, we are also founding members of the Mexican Association of Adventure Travel and Eco-tourism (AMTAVE).We have led tours for international associations such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the American Museum of Natural History in N.Y; the Saint Louis Zoo, and the National Wildlife Federation. At Ecotours de Mexico, we offer a different option for people who are interested in having a new and unique experience, who want to learn about the places they visit and are concerned about nature and conservationIn order to provide this, we have a great team of guides, mainly expert biologists and naturalists with a huge passion for nature. Our goal is to offer personal and professional attention on every one of our Eco- tours. Our tours are run based on the premise that you can't love that which you don't know, and we truly hope that after traveling with us you'll definitely share in our knowledge and our love for nature.Ecotours & ConservationBeing an authentic eco- tourism company, we have our own ongoing Humpback Whale research project since 1996. We are founder members of Ecologia y Conservacion de Ballenas (Ecology & Conservation of Whales) a NGO dedicated to research, conservation and protection of our oceans with main focus on Humbpack Whales. We have collaborate on the photo-identification project on the Humpback Whales and we are part of the Banderas Bay Humpback Whale Disentanglement Network. Ecotours is also involved in the Sea Turtle conservation program. We have been working as volunteers at different turtle camps in Michoacan and Oaxaca since 1990, and since 1998, we have been making donations and funding scholarships for the volunteers working at the main Turtle Camp in Banderas Bay. In 2010 we started actively supporting the conservation project of military macaws in the Sierra MadreWe believe education to be of outmost importance, and our staff frequently takes part in seminars at schools and universities in the area. We have also been invited to speak at several local, national and international tourism and eco- tourism conventions.

With our wonderful guide Cristina, we were able to have the amazing experience of snorkeling with dolphins. Cristina was a knowledgeable guide. The boats are small so you get personal attention. Highly recommend.

Three of us: Our superb guide, Fernando, and us on our way just north of PV to go birdwatching for the day. Fernando knew exactly where to find all sorts of birds--especially those that are endemic and native to Mexico. He was knowledgeable and provided the perfect narrative to our excursion. In addition, he has passion for the natural world... More

We took a tour to Las Marietas on the Prince of Whales with Raul as pilot and Fernando as guide. The trip was fabulous as Fernando was rich with information about birds and marine life! Raul is an excellent spotter and the first thing we saw was a Ridley turtle swimming next to our boat. We saw lots of blue... More

Ecotours includes a smaller boat - about 16 people, with a knowledgeable speaker about the whales and other wildlife around the bay. PV is very respectful of keeping distance between boats and wildlife, but we saw lots of whales diving, surfacing, breaching, and playing during our three hour trip. Included a soft drink or water and sandwiches.

This was our second excursion with Ecotours and both have been great! We have found them to be quite knowledgeable and deeply concerned about protecting and preserving the environment. Christine was our tour quide and her enthusiasm and appreciation of the humpbacks was contagious, although if you don't get excited watching humpback whales breach then you probably need to check... I and my sister found this company on internet and booked through their website. We really wanted to go to Hidden Beach and they only accept 116 people per day and 15 people per tour so we booked in advance. Mondays and Tuesdays are closed. Our tour guide was Cristina and the captain was Raul. They were both friendly, kind... More

Truly appreciated this company's dedication to respecting the whales and all marine life. Cynthia is a marine biologist and Raoul the captain has been on the water here for over 20 years. Both were bilingual and gave us so much information about anything you ever wanted to know about the whales. The boat had shade which was essential to everyone's... More

Guides lacked knowledge and enthusiasm. We paid a lot of money for three days of whale watching in Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta. Over 8 hours in the bay and only saw 2 humps of whales. Very disappointed. Taken to supposed Crocodile Sanctuary--just saw lots of garbage and plastic bags and bottles through a chain link fence. Crocs had no place... More

Good Morning, It´s bad to hear you are so disappointed, due your description this is with another company. Ecotours de México is a professional company working hard from more than 20 years ago and doing research with the humback whale since 1996 . All our guides are marine biologists who share their knowledge with our visitors during our whale excursion,... More

We had a great day with our guide Christine. We had a small group which made it easy to stay close and hear what she was telling us on our hike. She knew the area, the local scene, and the animals we encountered. Very enjoyable. We had a problem with the timing from our cruise. She actually set up a... More

We had a great outing with Ecotours in February 2017 with Fernando as our driver and guide. We like going on birding tours because we get out into the countryside where as foreigners we would never go, and we get to see beautiful birds. We started out at 0630. There were 7 people in our group. We had a comfortable... More
