We had an awesome time at the El Riscal ranch. Our guide, Ramone, was great providing background information on the area resorts, various fruits and how to use prepare and cook them, as well as information on the birds and other creatures in the area speaking very good English. Very personable and friendly while keeping a close eye on us... More

Beautiful beach. So long and clean. No vendors. Wonderful sunsets. Virtually no one there. Mother Nature at her best.

Absolutely breathtaking HUGE quiet remote beach. Any hotel concierge can put you in touch with a reservation to ride on the beach. Just a casual ride next to the fantastic waves on a breathtakingly beautiful beach. Great memories. Good for family. Not needed to be an expert rider. Good for a first timer.

We visited twice. Nice place to sit at an establishment and eat and drink at one spot all day. Great to spend your last hours before you fly out. Especially when you have to check out of your condo.

If there was ever was a beach that seemed never to end well this is one of them , pure and wild , huge thunderous waves , the smell of sea is in the air . A few hotels dotted along the beach offer refreshment and meals . Horse riding is also available . Great for long ................... walks ,... More

We took a horse back riding tour on this beach. It was a huge, wide beach that stretches as far as you can see and we were the only people on it. Apparently the weekends are busier. It was a gorgeous, golden beach. The right side had very photogenic rocks. I would definitely go back here.

A friend took us to Playa Larga and we could not believe how empty it was - and not for lack of scenery or accomodations. We hung out at a little bar/hotel on the beach and didn't see another person for over an hour. Big waves as this is open ocean but is possible to see humpback wales as they... More

We came here for the day and settled down at Popeye's. The sand was quite hot to walk on. I got bit by some sort of bugs here- possibly sand flies. The scenery is quite breathtaking though. Popeye's has a nice wading pool and clean bathrooms. Our server did not speak a lick of English so it was fun to... More

Please do NOT ride horses here. As an equine lover and horse owner I was appalled that I rode a horse with a huge and painful saddle sore that was not visible until I insisted on taking saddle off to brush him! I then returned with a Vet to treat the horse and they 'couldn't find him'. Blatant animal abuse

if you are up for a long walk, you will enjoy a 10 mile stretch of Playa Blanca which at some point, around the airport, continues as Playa Larga. Gorgeous.
