Amazing Canyon. We took the boat at Chiapa de Corzo pier for about 200 pesos (each) which was cheap. It was a nice tour and we were able to see the entire canyon from below and a beautiful waterfall in the middle of it. The only awkward moment and disappointment was the tour guide whom basically forced all people within... More

the thrill of the boat ride in the lap of the canyon has to be experienced. our long drive from Oaxaca was well worth the 2 hrs at the canyon. the boat ride was thrilling and the sights we saw were awe inspiring. should not be missed!

The boat ride starts at Chiapa de Corzo, at around 10 am departs a boat that charges about $180 pesos per person, it lasts about 2 hrs in the full sun (so dress appropriately) it usually is narrated in spanish, but if you don't speak the language is ok, the scenery will do all the talking... Be prepared to take... More

Visited as a member of a group consisting 30 members from Scandinavia. If you are a typical "Urban Cowboy", this is a "Must" for you. You will most probably see here a crocodile and other animals in nature. Normally you may see them only in Zoo. Anyway, this park is worth visiting if it is on your way around this... More

Originally I thought that the nicest places in Chiapas will be between Palenque and San Cristobal, but I was wrong. The most interesting and worth to see is definitely Canon del Sumidero. You can go to see it from "downstairs", take a boat ride from Chiapa de Corzo ($160MXN, 2:30hrs). The cost includes also the entrance to the park so... More

Out of the many beautiful places we have seen on our trip this may have been the most beautiful. On top of the wide river and 3000 foot canyon we saw crocodiles, spider monkeys in a 60 foot tree, a Christmas Tree shaped waterfall rock formation and more. The only thing that really needs to be done is make sure... More

This was a fun place to go see! We did the overlook points as well as the boat tour through the river. They were both really cool! The boat tour leaves from Chiapa de Corzo. The drive up overlook tour took about 2 hours and the boat tour took another two hours. Stunning views and the Christmas Tree waterfall is... More

Beautiful park, with many attractions, a museum, zoo, swim pool mixed with adventure moments that you must try. You can reach there through Sumidero Canyon by boat from Chiapa

If you are going to Chiapas do not miss visiting the Sumidero, a must go place! The view is amazing, mountains, waterfalls, canyon's walls.... do not expect to see a lot of wild life (I only see two monkeys and 8 allicators... I was lucky) The bad part: There is trash flooding on the water.... This is sad but do... More

The Cañon del Sumidero is a famous attractions in Chiapas State, Mexico and rightly so. The Grijalva river cuts through cliffs that can be as high as 1000m in a very interesting ride through nearly 40 Kms making a pleasant 2-hour boat ride. On the way youy can see lovely rock formations, some alligators and wildlife and also a chapel... More
