Beautiful place - take your time. The installments are worth viewing just as much as the history of the place. I forget what day, but I luckily went on a day that entry was free.

If you are in a hurry DO NOT GO TO VISIT. This is a magical, spiritual place. You can feel in peace with your soul after going around a couple of meters. There is a feeling to belonging to a place like this, stroll down the interior gardens with plenty of fruit trees maybe older than you. The chapel murals... More

This museum was amazing! We went there on a Tuesday and admission was free. I'm not sure if it's free every Tuesday or if it was a one-time offer. I encourage anyone who visits to really take there time to explore the architecture and the many areas of art. I enjoyed the contemporary art the best!

This museum was definitely one of the high points of our few days in Guadalajara. Beautiful building and interesting and moving art. More expansive than I expected. The portion with the murals was amazing. Go if you appreciate art.

We expected the murals and building to be great, which they were, but there was a large, multi-disciplinary art exhibit on view as well, and it was the best temporary show we saw on our visit to Mexico. There is a lovely permanent collection exhibit on the library housed at the Instituto featuring facsimiles of wonderful history documents and books.

Built in the early 1800's as an orphanage for 400+ children, the sheer size will amaze you. The architecture is amazing and the guide will explain all the intricate paintings on the ceilings. Don't try to do it alone...unless you are an art historian you'll miss most of it. This is really a must see in the city.

When visiting a big city, you always need to find someplace calming and tranquil. This is it, in Guadalajara! The building alone is great, but the main reason to go is to see the Orozco murals. There are over 50, and they are amazing!

The interrir architechture is nice and one can imagine how it might have been used in the past. Now it is basically an art gallery and event venue.
