As a former elected official, I love to visit government buildings around the world. This visit was especially important because of the Orozco frescoes. The huge frescos above the grand staircase are magnificent. Also, don't miss the frescos in congress hall. I am so glad we made this stop to the Governor's Palace

While the building is architecturally interesting, the main attractions are the Murals and the rotating exhibit, We had a great a guide hired through an agency and this made all the difference when viewing the Murals of Orozco. Some of the Murals are on a stairway and depicts the darker aspects of Mexican history. There are also murals in the... More

Open on Monday, unlike most of the museums in the city, this is Jones to 2 stunning Orozco murals. Entrance is free. The first mural, immediately on your right upon entering, is the portrait of Miguel Hidalgo, placed for maximum effect at the top of a massivive stone staircase . The other mural is not quite as shocking in it's... More

The Orozco murals in the stairway and in the former Congress Hall are incredible. Take your time to study the murals carefully as they are full of interesting historical details. The stairway mural is disturbing but fascinating. The small museum is newer, free, nicely designed, and well worth a visit. The architecture of the whole building is beautiful.

The exhibits rotate--we saw Mexican ceramics. The mural by Orozco is dark, even for period--disturbing really, but not to be missed. Admission is free.

The bullet is just something to start watching from the outside. There's many many beautiful paintings inside. Is a beautiful building.

Great place to tour for Mexican architecture. Very beautiful with courtyards and a few exhibits. One horrifying mural on a stairway ceiling... definitely interesting. And free public restrooms that are nice and clean ;-)

We had a tour guide show us inside the Palacio de Gobierno. He concentrated on the mural painted by Jose Clemente Orozco. I had seen the mural before , but I never understood it until our tour guide was explaining the meanings of what Orozco was trying to get accross to people. If your in Guadalajara I recommend the guided... More
