Zapopan‘s Basilica is an inspiring church with an incredible architecture. This is the church of Our Lady of Zapopan which is the Virgin in which most of Zapopan’s population trust. You don’t really spend much time there more or less half an hour after visiting...More

What a church. Incredibly beautiful. We walked inside and then around the courtyard. We ate at a local restaurant that was authentic Mexican cuisine. Put it on the list of things to see in the region

While most people visit the main cathedral in Guadalajara, this old basilica offers a unique colonial experience in the downtown. Fewer people means a more intimate experience and I enjoyed resting in the shade outside on the grounds.

The age and architecture of this Basilica were quite a bit more interesting than the main Guadalajara Cathedral in centro. There is far more detail on the outside. I also recommend checking out the Huichol Museum to the far right of the church, next to...More

Very lovey area and a nice centerpiece of the city. My wife attended mass while I waited outside, great spot to take a break and relax.

One of the social concepts that came to Mexico from Spain was Catholicism. It is deeply rooted in most of Mexico's population and there are a lot of churches throughout the country. In Zapopan, this is the largest church (well, it is a Basilica after...More

Beautiful Chappell! Great feeling! Love the feeling of being there. Also outside great little shops. Lots of food and souvenirs. I would definitely go back! Blessings

Beautiful architecture with arched gold leaf interior, stain glass windows and impressive wood carvings. The exterior courtyard features prominent statues, including one of the pope.

The outside of this Basilica is beautiful but the inside steps it up even more. The paintings, sculptures, and design is magnificent. Highly recommend a visit.

It's a beautiful old catedral and there is generally some dancers, artisans or activity happening on the plaza in front of the Basilica. There is a small huitchol museum too.

About 98% of the distilleries are outside of Guadalajara, either on the town of Tequila, or on Arenal or Arandas. But if you don't have the time and want something inside the city of Guadalajara, you could take the tour of... More
