It was okay, not fabulous not bad. There are a few interesting pieces and a great cafe at the back in the garden.

The grounds are lovely with the various sculptures scattered about. Just have to say unless you're a diehard fan of modern art don't bother with the interior gallery. .Luckily there was an exhibit of Shoemaker designs in wood that made the visit worthwhile but it has a limited run.... check before you go.

This is a very famous museum in Mexico. It is small compare to USA or European museums. However it has some interesting permanent and temporal exhibits. It also has a garden with several Sculptures. This is a government administered museum and for some reason it lacks the emotion this kind of place must offer to the visitors. I will return... More

Thought I would cruise by here on a Sunday afternoon. It may have been ok if I had gotten there in the morning. But it was quite busy (which is so nice to see residents of the city take advantage of visiting their museums). Sunday is free. But There was a long line to visit the main gallery upstairs that... The 60 peso entrance fee is a bit steep for what you get once inside. (especially when compared to many other museums around Mexico City) We found that the staff were unfriendly, and overzealous with their security. Don't look too closely at the paintings or sculptures, you might get yelled at! I was leaning over the masking tape line to... More

Some great ideas here in this wonderful space. Just contemplating the building is inspirational. Some fascinating exhibitions and life stories and Mexican artists either by birth or adoption share their world view. Wooden furniture created by Don S Shoemaker fills most of the downstairs. Statues in the surrounding park make a lovely view through the large windows. The museum is... More

This is a decent enough modern art museum, but I would not call it world-class by any stretch. I think the sculpture garden is likely more compelling than the exhibitions, which feel very dated, given that they are. I dunno, I was a little underwhelmed. If you're in the area, I'd recommend the Rufino Tamayo Contemporary Art Museum, within walking... More

It appears that one of the galleries is currently being worked on, there are no works on show by either of these artists. The rest of it - well modern art is a subjective thing but I didn't connect with much of what was on show. The building to me looks tired, 1970s style architecture, overall a big disappointment.

This is a small fine museum in the Chapultepec park. The building itself is a peace of art. You will contemplate a different art expressions. They are changing the art exposition from time to time, but you can find paintings they are the whole time there, like the two Frida Kahlos. There is a nice sculpture garden outside. I liked... Was in the park to see the castle and stopped in. Was Sunday so no admission. Nice sculpture garden. Decent exhibit of Shoemaker furniture. Interesting exhibit on Japanese-American painter. Had a nice time, but was not blown away. Good to incorporate into a day in the park area.
