The beauty of the hotel lobby combined with well-appointed rooms and friendly staff made our visit great. The complimentary prosecco at check-in was a great touch, too. I love old properties so it was a treat to get a brief history from the bellman along with a ride in the original elevator. We had room service snacks one night which... More

OK, that's a little harsh, because the bar does have an incredible view over the main square, but the inside bar was a horrid mess - I was really surprised. I thought it was going to be a flash hotel with an incredible bar. It is not and does not. The drinks were pretty standard, actually they were below par... More

This is one of the most beautiful building in the downtown. Try to go to the restaurant, for me it's really beautiful even if it's only for taking beautiful photos. Some afternoons there's a guy playing the piano.

Had lunch at the Terraza at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico. Like the title says, the view was great, the best. But for what you spend, I would have expected more from the restaurant. My wife ordered a tortilla soup, came out cold, and I ordered tacos de arrachera, cold also. Service was OK. I have had better. Bread... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in March to break up our journey from the UK to Huatulco and were very happy with our choice. The central location was ideal and we had a very tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean room/suite with king 4 poster bed (number 203) on the 2nd floor overlooking the Zocalo . The rooftop... We stopped in to take a look at the absolutely stunning decor inside the lobby of this historic hotel. The ceiling of the open lobby area is stained glass - gorgeous! There is a cafe on the second floor, but we decided to splurge and have lunch on the upper terrace with a great view of the Zocalo. I had... More

An art Deco masterpiece in the center of the historic center of Mexico City, this one is more than worth the stay. Rooms are spacious, beds are delightful, breakfast in wonderful. Right on the main square. Cathedral across the street. Everything is at your fingertips (pls remember that Meciso City is enormous). And the price3 is even affordable

Our AirBnB host recommended we go here for lunch and we're so glad he did! You go up through the incredible hotel interior (worth a visit itself) and then to the terrace were you have a beautiful shaded breezy place to sit and have incredible views of the central square and cathedral. We arrived before 1pm and even without a... More

This is one historical hotel, gorgeous architecture, it is in the corner of the Zocalo. You can eat in the cafeteria or in the Restaurant where the food is very good and it has a beautiful view of the Catedral. If you stay in this hotel, you can experience a hotel from another time. You also can walk from there... More
