Don't miss the view from the Fort. From here you can see the entire valley and gain an appreciation for the site. No cost and a great sight to see.

This restaurant is near the Guelaguetza Stadium .also near the statue of Benito Juarez. The menu is varied and offers a special of the day. I prefer the hot pot that offers meats from Oaxaca. You also get beans, avocados and tortillas. It is enough to...More

When I have new visitors to Oaxaca, I always take them to El Mirador near sundown for the spectacular view and a good Oaxacan menu. I took guests there recently and there was a new menu -- a bit upscale but still reasonable. The parrilla...More

This place, which gives you a birds eye view of the entire city of Oaxaca is a place to chill. We went there at the dusk and it was nice to see the sun go down and the little lights shimmering all over the city.

The views over Oaxaca City is definitely worth the hike. A 10 minute walk from downtown to the base of the steps, then another 10 min steepish climb up. There's a couple tiendas that sell drinks on the way up.

Great service and very good food. Ordered a snack there and a beer. It was very reasonable and a great place to sit.

This is a nice walk up to a nice view, but be advised: bring water during the day because it's quite a climb, and at night be cautious as there have been minor robberies in this part of town.
