More

Three of us went with Petra for a daylong tour of the Chorreadero Caves. We booked the previous day at the Petra office on the Real de Guadalupe in San Cristobal, where the staff were friendly and helpful. We were picked up at our Airbnb shortly after 9am the next day. The van was unmarked, which was slightly disconcerting since... More

We had a great time with Carlos/Maco and were very impressed with the service from Petra!! He is extremely knowledgeable, safe, professional, and speaks perfect English. He was also very flexible in tailoring the experience to the needs and ability level of our group. Chorreadero is incredibly beautiful and fun. Highly recommended!!

We planned our trip to Chorreadero largely because we heard it was one simultaneously one of the best caves and one of the best canyons in the world. It certainly lived up to expectations! Spectacularly beautiful, and with lots of fun jumping, sliding, rappelling, etc. The short trip through Chorreadero also seems like a great option for less experienced or... More

This April I traveled to Chiapas with 7 relatively experience Canyoneering friends from the USA. We found the long version of Chorreadero to be a challenging and fun adventure. Carlos was a professional and knowledgable guide. He was flexible and patient with our group. When we were unable to rent vehicles from the airport, Carlos arranged for us to use... More

I was the only non Mexican, and the instructors did their best to communicate with their known English, and made me feel safe and welcomed. This will require some athleticism; you should be comfortable in water, climbing rocky terrain, be flexible enough to reach for rocks, and not be afraid of heights. Excellent value, you'd be missing out by not... More

I can't say enough good things about Petra Vertical. Carlos and his crew were very professional. They were able to adapt to our schedule so we could do the Cañon del Sumidero in the afternoon. We felt we were in great hands with Carlos, Beto, and Christian. They provided us with with all of the equipment, but be sure you... More

A buddy of mine convinced me to do a half day tour of the Chorreadero cave with him via Petra Vertical. It cost about 1300 pesos including transport (1 hr to and from), wet suit, harness and rappelling gear, helmet and headlamp, water and snacks, and two guides. This particular tour involved some moderate hiking through a cave, rappelling down... More
