Beautiful! Children would love it as well as adults! Zip lining available for around 150 pesos, which is not bad!:) Locals are friendly and helpful! Food is available and you can go up and see more waterfalls and lagoons. There is an entrance fee,but worth it. It is a little hidden but well known so you can find your way there... More

Pozas Azules is about 40 minutes away from Taxco and tucked in the village of ATZALA, Guerrero. On the way there, you'll pass along LA CASCADA, another magnificent natural setting. The road is easy to drive, but watch out (during rainny season) for mudslides. YOu can leave your car in ATZALA (there are some families that offer safe parking place... More

Pozas Azules is a great place to swim, even when they are not green. We hired a taxi at the Hotel to take us there, $160 pesos per hour, the driver waited for us, first he took us to the Cacalotenango waterfalls, then to "Las Pozas azules" and later to the Crist. The whole trip was 3:30 hours long. Since... More

The site is still fairly rustic, but the community seems to take a lot of pride in it and are constantly adding new services. You can rent chairs, tables, guides, life jackets, etc. The pools themselves are gorgeous, cool crystal blue water perfect for swimming or wading.

This is a bit of a treacherous drive through fog and twisty roads, but the spectacular scenery is very worth the trip. Take small bills to tip the volunteer tour guides.

This is a small natural area with three pools. A lower, shallow (3 - 4.5 feet) green pool, a middle wider blue pool with a small waterfall that runs down a large rock. This pool you can jump into. It's about 5 to 6 feet deep. No diving. The upper pool is green and deep - around 14 to 16... More

Though my mother is from Taxco, I had never gone to Atzala, Cacalotenango or Granadas Canyon, some of the best known canyoning / canyoneering spots in the vicinity. Now that I'm taking a fully-fledged mountaineering course, I've been able to experience all three. Atzala is not a very technical canyon. I mean, the casual tourist can explore from old fashioned... Although many "locals" said that the water was crystal blue, it was actually brownish-green. The explanation - as we learned later - was that the heavy July rains not only turned the water dark, but the water was too high, so we couldn't climb to the "best" of the swimming holes.

If you decide to go here make sure you negotiate a price with taxi driver for round trip. This is a remote location and all although you can take Combi ( VW van ) that someone mentioned earlier, it does not run often enough for me. We agreed to $350 pesos round trip with the taxi driver agreeing to stay... More
