The former estate of "El Chorrillo" is a beautiful sixteenth-century historic site located in the northern part of the city of Taxco de Alarcon. The building, which was owned by the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortez, is considered one of the first profit mining estates in America. The process of separation of silver by using large amounts of water as a driving power lasted for over 400 years.
