About
Coco Bongo is one of Cancun’s best nightlife spots which will wow you with its unique line-up of shows and entertainment. Catch spartans performing stunts during ‘300’, sing along to classic hits during ‘The Beatles’, or marvel at a light show during ‘Queen’—complete with confetti and balloons falling from the ceiling. It’s Las Vegas meets Cirque Du Soleil at its very best, but with an open bar. Coco Bongo Cancun is conveniently located in the heart of Hotel Zone. Regular tickets are for standing only; for a seat, snag a Gold Member Pass or Front Row Pass. – Tripadvisor

    Great night
My husband and I went to Coco Bongo a couple of years ago when we were last in Cancun and had an amazing night but we were unsure whether to do it again after hearing some bad reviews. We decided to go for it and booked front row gold tickets through a coco bongo rep called Jessie who visited our Riu hotel. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to coco bongo, we did wait in a line but it wasn’t too long. We had front row seats which were incredible - the best seats in the house! We tipped our waiter and the drinks were flowing all night, most of the time he just brought us another round without us even asking. The show itself was great but there were a lot more breaks than last time, there seemed to be a performance followed by 20-30 minutes of just the crowd getting up and dancing to fill time. The show was still good and we had a great night, I would recommend booking direct through coco bongo and paying a bit extra for front row seats - definitely worth it.
Hello Jennifer, thank you for sharing your experience with us, we are sure this will help more traveleres to enjoy the show and party atmosphere. We hope to see you again one day. Good vibes.

    What a great night
I'm not one for night clubs however my good lady wife was so excited about going that I went against my better judgment & had a fantastic time. We booked direct through Freddy the Coco Bongo rep at our hotel (Grand Sirenis) and would definitely recommend going through these guys. It costs the same as on the doors or through your travel agency. We opted for the Gold members package and sure its $125.00 US per person which I initially thought was expensive but its definitely worth it. We had a much shorter wait to get in. Perfect view of the main floor & table service so good that my wife & I never saw the bottom of our glass the whole night. Show switches back & forth between nightclub & Acts every ten minutes or so but its constant high energy all night. Loads of fun.
Hello Paul, thanks a lot for sharing this positive review. We are glad you and your wife had a fantastic time. We will say hi to Freddy and let him know about your comments. We hope to see you again. Regards.

Not worth the hype & very misleading.
Me & my partner came for paid for the regular experience we did really consider the table option at $175 dollars each for a table (thank god we didn’t!) Regular entry is still $109 dollars (which included all inclusive drinks & snacks) each so still not cheap by any means, Got there to be welcomed by characters like the mask, beeltejuice & Batman as we queued to get in, Asking if we wanted pictures we agreed thinking it was part of the experience, Oh no, Soon as we got pictures they were all expecting a $20 dollar tip & when I said no they kept telling me I had to pay which I refused, That kinda set the tone really of what to expect, Got in & it was busy but managed to get a very watered down captain Morgan’s rum & coke & was offered a shot, So we find the main stage to see what all the fuss is about. The positives The show itself was entertaining the little man dressed up as the mask & beetlejuice stole the show for me the lighting was great & played great current music & throwbacks, They had Rolling Stones, Queen, Elvis music tributes & film segments from the dark knight, 300 & beetlejuice which were great but nothing spectacular You couldn’t move in there it was overcrowded the people next to us paid for a table ($175 each) which they really did, they were told they had to pay extra for chairs?! & the waiter who brought their drinks over only did it for a tip! Our package did come with all inclusive drinks & burger & chips but we only managed to get one drink which was the one beforehand as we couldn’t get to the bar without losing each other or making it through the crowds, The waiters/cleaners near enough pushed you out the way to get past which was frequent throughout, Don’t get me wrong I understand it must be difficult to get drinks through a crowd but still, Also if your a lady & want to go on stage they blow air up your skirts which they should warn you about beforehand hand because It can be really embarrassing for someone who isn’t expecting it. Overall I don’t believe it’s worth the hype for the money they charge you, They just want your money & nothing else the crowd was well over capacity & made it uncomfortable, It was underwhelming especially as a birthday celebration.
Hi Ricky, thank you for sharing. We are glad you enjoyed the show and party atmosphere. About the characters on the street, they don't work for Coco Bongo. We can see people like them all over the world like in Las Vegas or Rome. Same here, we are sorry for the mixup but they are on the street, not inside Coco Bongo. We wish we could do something else apart from putting some sings on our walls which you probably didn't see. Thanks again for sharing, if you get the chance to comeback one day please let us know, we will be more than glad to help sebastian@cocobongo.com

    Great party, poor organization
I bought the ticket online prior to going, and on the confirmation email it stated check in time 8:45, so I got there at that time, the line was not as long and I was given a drink while I was waiting, I was inside around 9:20 which I think it’s okay. Then… finding a place to be at was a hustle, I was moved from place to place (not nicely) even tho I was following the instructions, at one point one of the staff members even put his hand on my arm and pushed me to the side, where there was clearly no place available (rude🙄), Within 30 minutes of being there I was already feeling like leaving, Luckily, I found a spot in between two occupied tables, the people on the tables were okay with me being there, and then i could enjoy! The show was neat! I loved it, (300 was my favorite), drinks were not great, but I didn’t have any problem getting them, I would just go to the bar, didn’t have to wait much and the bartenders were nice to me. while I was dancing I saw a guy with a big tray giving the snacks, so I got to try the burger which I liked (it was tasty). In between the shows the entertainment gets interactive with the public ✅, there are kiss cams, dance battles and others… women showing off their bodies and boobs to me is tacky and unnecessary, but I saw many people enjoying that so I get why they do it. In general I had a great time, I was a little concerned about going as a solo girl, but I think it made it easier for me, nobody offered me a table or a bottle😅 yet, I saw all the problems that were mentioned before: No place, poor customer service, people at the tables waiting long for what they ordered, rudeness from the staff, people not being able to see the show… organizational problems that will ruin the experience for the customers 🙁 management should take the complaints seriously to make the experience enjoyable for everybody 🫶🏻

Do it if you want to
We got the tickets off a street vendor for $40 USd per person which included a booklet of 10 drinks and some fries / snack that time which were all very bad quality and cheap alcohol,. the only good thing was we were able to fight to get a much better VIP section with a great view - otherwise if they sat where they originally wanted it would been an awful experience. The show is great, undeniably, but exiting throught the narrow and slippery staircase down to the exit was also questionable with everyone around you drunk and spilling drinks all over the place... eh..

Drinks are strong and the show is great
Other reviews did make me sceptical when it came to arriving and being seated , but it all went smoothly. We paid gold and got the gold band and sat at the second row. Drinks were strong and plenty were brought to us. The show was great but felt a little dated. Like there could have been more. I think it has such a reputation maybe I expected too much. The prices are steep but we did drink over half of our ticket in drinks if you compared them to UK prices. The club vibe afterwards is amazing. So it makes it all worth it and its a great experience.

Entertainment at its finest. Non stop!
OMFG!! What a night!! Non stop entertainment from the moment the show starts. Service was fantastic but tipping helped massively and was well worth it. Very well organised and you didn’t feel like you were crammed in. Air conditioning coped well despite the hot outdoor temperatures. All in all, a great night. Beware of the noughts and crosses girls..!

    Hours of entertainment
An amazing night. It was just my wife and I, and I bought the Front Row VIP Tix. It was $200...in my head I knew it was a lot. But I'm here on vacation and I've seen a little preview here and there. So I was hoping it was worth it. I was only walking distance from my hotel, but when I got there...the line to get in was LONG. I had pre-purchased my tix so I was told I could go to a shorter line. There's security checks. Before you get seated there's a bar area where you can order drinks to take into the show area. The Front Row VIP included reserved seating, the other tiers had only standing areas...my wife's feet wouldn't last long that's why I chose what I did. We got in about 930, and left around 2am. What best describes Coco Bongo is a mix of a dance club, Broadway musicals, some comedy, and movie shorts. I wanted to stay for last hour, but my wife was tired by that time. She wanted to leave at 1am but then 2 performances came on, and got her in a upbeat mood again. Drinks are unlimited, and they do serve burgers hot dogs and fries as well. They do have audience participation. I've paid 150 for tix to broadway shows that lasts about 2 hours. I've paid 100 for tix to a stand up special that lasts an hour and a half. Been to a club where I've spent 100 on entrance fee along with drinks. And I've spent 50 on the movies. This has all that for HOURS of GOOd entertainment.

    Fantastic night
We bought the front row tickets for seats located upstairs. I wasn’t comfortable with the seats as I have an extreme irrational fear of heights. We went downstairs and a member of staff said it was no problem and seated us at a table downstairs. The show and format of the night was amazing. It’s so professional and entertaining with some real wow moments! The staff were amazing and the team member looking after us brought us drinks all night, we didn’t even need to ask as we were constantly topped up. It was a brilliant night, with a great atmosphere and it was one of the best evenings ever. If I returned to Cancun it would be the first thing I would book. Thanks to all the staff for the great service!

    Excellent entertainment
Carlos set us up at the Royalton CHIC this was a birthday night the girls will remember forever! VIP section 💯 worth it. The entertainment never stopped one show to the next with lots of energy! We wanted a nightclub scene but also a show absolutely the best of both worlds. Very impressed will return.
    ¡Thank you! Good vibes

Like watching MTV in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and throw in some good stuff like Queen. Don’t bother paying for gold or purple seating. The show is cheaper on the floor. They will try to up charge you to pay to sit on the floor. Says they are better than Vegas shows. Been to many Vegas shows. This doesn’t hold a candle. Payed for “Gold Seats” = “premium liquor”. We were never waited on once in 3 hours. Don’t waste your time.

We opted for the very expensive $180 Front row seats purely as it's probably the one and only time we will go. Upon arrival we were sent to the Gold Lane where we were offered drinks right away on the bar outside the venue..

Once in we we show to our seats and drinks came right away.. After that we never asked for drinks again and the server just kept bringing drinks ( 2 at a time) the whole evening.

The shows and visuals are excellent, the place is totally mad and we had a fantastic time.. Yes it's very expensive for premium views but I thought it was worth it as a one off. FYI there are lots of twerkoffs where guests ( female) tried to out twerk each other on big screens.. Its very funny but be mindful and it's not a show that will. Be to everyones taste..

Overall a great night and a horrible hangover

DO NOT BOTHER!!! Absolute waste of money such a scam!! You pay extra for the gold and everyone from the dance floor ends up there anyway for free because no one patrols it!! Horrible experience rude staff never ever again. Mediocre show

The place is overloaded. Wherever we stood staff members said to move somewhere else, i guess they expected us just to pay and watch the show from the toilet or from outside. Shows and music were nice, but they made us feel super annoyed, and upset about how they treated us. The way they talk to you or just push you away from the back is unacceptable. We are the costumers, we payed to be there and they acted we owe them. And actually they were the one whom stopped us every meter on the street. I would never ever go there again. I gave 2 stars, because the entertainment team made a nice show and some bartener were nice as well, but the waiters had no manners!

This is unlike anything club I've ever attended. From the outside, on the 1st floor, you just see a dance floor, music playing, and not many people. Once you go upstairs, it's another world. It's a massive nightclub with a show. It's an experience. The shows are amazing and your senses are heightened. In between shows they'll play music and everyone will dance. They mix latin music with some top 40 which I am a huge fan of. If you wonder why the entrance fee is so much, it's because of the shows.

TO GET IN: I would recommend talking to someone outside, usually wearing an orange shirt and ask them for the entrance fee and drink UPSTAIRS. This is important because they will try to sell you drinks downstairs but once you go up, there is no way down and you would have to leave the venue. Also, if you don't drink, just ask for a straight entrance fee, I paid about $47 without drinks and my friends paid about $80 with drinks. Redbull and other exceptions to the free drinks.

Highly recommend visiting Coco Bongo at least once.

It’s an absolute rip off for the price u pay for the premium tickets!! If you choose to go don’t pay for the expensive tickets buy the cheaper tickets!!! The expensive tickets u are basically paying for a bottle of alcohol. The seats are shocking and because it closer to the stage just means they can squeeze more people in to a smaller space!!! Would not recommend this experience to any one!!! The dancers are great just the way they over sell and under deliver spoils the whole experience. Save ur money and avoid at all costs!!! The venue is a death trap!!!

I booked with one of the coco bongo sellers at the hotel, he also was present at the evening making sure I got the correct seat and deal. I booked a GOLD - ticket with a Royal Service upgrade. Got a seat and table in first line, next to the people standing. The show was amazing, with a wide range of imitators; Freddie Mercury (Queen) , Shakira and more. There is also a Cirque de Soleil-feeling to it, with hanging acrobats from the ceiling. Solely the show was 5/5. The sad part was that even though the show was great there a few things to be aware of, and that limits my score of the total Coco Bongo experience to 3/5. They want to «get» as much money out of you as they possibly can. If you try to upgrade once there, the price is «crazy». There are girls going around selling TINY shots for what ever they can get out of you, and pretending to «make a connection» , playing peasant chess on your hand in the beginning, just avoid them. There are various options to take photos with the many characters from «The Mask» for an extra fee. There are loads of staff working there and keeping things in order, but you feel a bit hassled around, suddenly they removed my table because another person/group «upgraded», Go Figure.

My waitor was good and served me drinks all night, but was not able to offer vodka redbull, even though I had the premium drinks included. The drinks was not near «premium», more like watered down «al inclusive» drinks, and I saw other people drinking it. But I did get free fries and tortilla chips

HEY, the show is GREAT, just be prepared to be hassled around and not getting what you paid for.

Spectacular show however it is absolutely ram packed. It could do with more air conditioning due to this. Only good thing is you can go in and out throughout the evening as you choose if you need fresh air.

Unlimited drinks included in price. Good views from standard tickets save your cash.
