It may sound strange but me and my family really enjoyed this 20 minute ferry ride to the Isla Mujeres. The boat is super clean and you can choose to ride outside on the upper deck like we did where you will enjoy live music and a great breeze or downstairs in an air conditioned cabin with comfy seats and... Prompt, gracious service! Perfect way to unwind and head to your destination. We went from Puerto Juarez to Isla Mujeres. Great hokey musician with his guitar entertaining the travelers... You start smiling as you head out or back.

I was pretty impressed with Ultramar. Easy purchase of tickets right there at the port and inexpensive--like $4-5 US each way. The ferries or catamarans are new and comfortable. You can sit inside (downstairs) or outside (upstairs). Quick 18 min. ride and they are very punctual--at least the ones I rode were on time. Ask any cab driver to take... More

We went from Playa Tortugas to Isla Mujeres. The top was full on our way over so we sit downstairs and it was really nice. There was a bathroom on board. The singer/guitar player on the way there was pretty good so we tipped. We did not rent the golf cart from the boat as it was around 50.00 and... More

Crossed over to Isla Mujeres on our own from Playa Tortugas, $19 per person return fare. Stayed on the upper deck on the way over, with a live-entertainer singing for donations. Returned on the lower deck in a very comfortable setting without being bothered by "artists" or wind. Very nice comfortable seats and clean space. Check-in/out smooth and uneventful. Very... More

There are numerous ports in the Hotel Zone of Cancun where you can board the Ultramar ferry to Isla Mujeres, it is a fast and efficient process, 20-25 minutes total and you are on a small island that is dominated by golf carts and mopeds. I think the round trip fare was about $22, they return about every hour. Best... More

We took the ferry to Isla Mujeres on 2/27/15. The ride there although windy was very enjoyable. We had an issue coming back and had to have another ferry tow us in. A worker from another ferry got his guitar and played and sang for us while we waited to get get attached to them.

My wife and I took the UltraMar ferry from Cancun to Isla Mujeres and back again. The ferry is a modern, fast catamaran-hulled ship that makes the trip in around 20 minutes. It's very smooth and there are very comfortable cushioned seats on the air-conditioned enclosed main deck. There are less comfortable but still nice bench seats on the sun-filled... More

In my experience the Ultramar ferry to Isla Mujeres was awesome, we got to the embarcadero early got our roundtrip tickets ($19 ea.) and just waited for it, we got to sit in the upper level and loved the views! Just make sure to grab your stuff (hats, sunglasses, phones, etc) or they will literally fly away due to the... More

We took the ferry to Isla Majeures for the day. We had some confusion as to where to catch the ferry so we ended up having to continually ask the locals as we travelled the hotel zone. A few misconceptions on the reviews for the ferry ride so wanted to share our experience. The ride from the hotel zone is... More
