I have to say I was skeptical when my husband wanted to do this "underwater scooter" thing. It ended up being AMAZING! We got to see some sea turtles up close and our guide even let us touch one. We were surrounded by colorful fish! They also let us snorkel off the boat while we were waiting for our boat... More

I'd done a helmet dive in Saint Thomas and was hoping the experience on the BOB would be similar. Not quite. The ride out in the speedboat was fantastic. Beautiful scenery, great boat pilot. Very very pleasant experience. Was thinking this was well worth the price of admission. Everyone laughing and getting acquainted. Got out to the launch boat and... More

My wife and I are both certified divers, and one of the reasons we decided to try this was simply because it is one of only two things that Aquaworld offers that we haven't done. Our expectation levels were quite low, since we have spent a lot of time diving the reefs of Cancun and Cozumel. I have to report... More

Hi 'ThomasW_2010' thank you so much for taking the time to post your review with so much detail. As you say this is great option that is similar to diving but also very different! All of your tips are great and we're sure it will help other travellers choose the right activity for them. We're going to have to create... More

Crew was incredible, friendly and helpful, actual BOB, not so much. Its very uncomfortable on your ears. If you are claustrophobic DONT DO. Reef is not all that. Couple of fish here and there. It's mostly a photo session. I don't' blame the crew for that, its how they make a living. Pics are very expensive. You can snorkel on... More

Hi A T, we appreciate your feedback, we have found that we receive mixed reviews because of our guests suffering from claustrophobia or motion sickness and others who love every second of the activity. We're working on improving the tour where possible and understand that we need to be clear about the characteristics of the service with regards to those... More

My husband and I went on this excursion we booked through our resort so we didn't have much info on it before we went for it. We didn't realize there was a 30 minute boat ride to get to the main boat with all the equipment. once we got onto the main boat everyone felt really sea sick with how... More

It was an interesting first time experience, but the guides spent most of our underwater time placing us in grouping of our parties and taking our pictures in the B.O.B. units. Also the area of the reef they use was very bare of colorful growth; it was almost a sandy bottom with not much to see.

Aquaworld1, Manager at BOB Underwater Adventure, responded to this review

Hi 'GPBNY' I'm sorry you had such a poor experience, your comments have been noted and if you would like to contact us directly here then we would be glad to put this right for you on your next visit. We are aware that the reef isn't the best for this experience and we are looking to change that. The... More

This is my second review of the B.O.B. (Breathing Observation Bubble). My husband and I initially went on this excursion August 2015. Since we returned to Cancun this April 2016 with my parents, we decided to go again for my parents to enjoy it as well. We had an entirely different AND SCARY experience. 1. Do not take the first... Great experience!!!!! Descending down to the 18 feet can be a bit dicey but nothing that a little swallowing and blowing with you hand over your nose can't fix. Saw fish, sea turtle, coral reef, sting ray and they put a star fish in your hand. The master divers who took us down David and George did an AWSOME job!!!!... More

The scenic ride out to the site for the BOB adventure is worth the price alone. Its probably a good idea to take the Dramamine. We did not, because we typically done get seasick, but going in the underwater bubble for 35 minutes can get you pretty rocky. Then you come out and have to wait for your ride home... More

It was a fun day on the boat but the group was a bit too large to actually enjoy the time snorkeling and there was about an hour in the water and 2 hours in the boat.

Hi Barry, thank you for the feedback, we will take into consideration the point that you made about the timing. The snorkeling is actually an added extra as the BOB is the main activity here.
