Ok maybe not as frenzied as the strip ,but the architecture of some of the hotels are stunning. Great restaurants dot the strip when ch is served well by public transportation, bike & running paths too! Even a place to see ruins.

Kukulcan Avenue is a beautiful boulevard to enjoy, with hotels, malls, restaurants, lake marinas and housing area. It´s a place to enjoy Cancun in full. Promenade, shop, hike, jog, eat, drink, dance, party, sea and lake view.

It is the main avenue of the touristic part of Cancun (island). It crosses the seashore. The majority of hotels is here so the place is called Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone). Many buses cross all the avenue (north-south,south-north). Here you can find also the main restaurants and shoppings centers.

I love walking or travelling on this route. It is broad with palm trees swaying at the side. It is a safe place to walk around with the sea breeze brushing against your face. Instead of walking on the thread mills, I prefer taking my morning walks here while I was in Cancun. Sometimes you are rewarded with a kitten... More

We walked from Playa Caracol to Playa Tortuga and back to the main section where the hotels begin after the Hard Rock Cafe. Weather was perfect and plenty of shade as we walked along. Also lots of places to rest should you get tired.

The whole path is marked by kilometers and goes very far. My first run was 7k and felt very safe. Bikes and roller bladers were also around.

The uppermost area of the hotel zone is where all nightclubs, such as Coco Bongo, are located. Many souvenir shops (Perola Negra Complex), restaurants and other stores are located. The mid area has many well known fancy restaurants, such as Puerto Madero and Lorenzillo's, and the most famous shopping centers, La Isla for instance.

You can take the shuttle for 10 pesos to see as much of Cancun as you want via Avenida Kukulkan. Fun way to see the variety of beaches, hotels, restaurants, shops, cultural sites, etc. Easy to use, and one is always about a minute away, literally.

Ave. Kukulcan is kind of the main avenue where many of the big hotels in Cancun are located. It's not as busy as closer to downtown plus there are three nice malls (two of them outdoors) where you find restaurants, coffee shops, liquor stores, souvenirs, a large grocery store, drug stores, banks and ATM's and even an aquarium. If you... More
