Although not as popular as Chichén Itzá, these ancient Mayan ruins are noteworthy in their own right, as this is the site where Mayan women paid tribute to the goddess of love and fertility.

If you have been to more famous sites you may be a bit disappointed but it's always worth another adventure. It's small but you can get a tour or just read the signage.

This was part of a larger tour that I took of Cozumel island. I wish we could have spent more time here. The guide was very informative about all of the buildings and the history of the site. If you are looking for something on...More

So much better to cross over on the ferry and visit Chichén Itzá. This place is pretty boring compared to that.

A Mayan ruin, we wandered for almost 1.5 hours, walking walking, walking. Bring water, sunscreen, bug spray (though we didn't need it), a good shade hat, and good shoes because you will walk your feet off. Really interesting archeological remnants of an ancient Mayan city...More

This is nice place if you are interested in a nice hike. The ruins are not that impressive, and they are rather small. But the park has them scattered , so its a good hike to see them all. You have to pay two fees,...More

The Mayan ruin were amazing. We mange to find a path that took the largest of the ruins which was great. You will also enjoy the iguanas.

I love Mayan culture and hadn't been here before. Whilst not as spectacular as other sites, this was well worth a visit. The remixes are pretty well signposted and some parts need a short walk to see them - well worth it.

We chose to visit the ruins from our NCL excursion. The tour was great but rushed from Uniper. We had to choose to take pictures or hang around and learn about what we saw, so had no time on our one to wander around. Truly...More

Hi, we are arriving on a cruise ship. Would you suggest taking a cab or is it within walking distance? About how long does touring the ruins take.

It seem to take us 30 minutes by bus to get there. About an hour sounds right.
We're not planning on doing a guided tour, but we would like to go to the ruins. What method of transport would you recommend from the port in Cozumel and back?

Your best bet may be to hire a taxi for transportation and possibly another side tour location or two?
Did you pre-book the tour guide or is this an add on feature when you arrive at the ruins? Thanks!

No we didn't pre-book the tour, when you arrive you will see a group of people just past the gift shops. They are wearing name badges and it indicates they are tour guides. The tour cost us$300 pesos. It was very detailed... More
