Off the beaten path, but a good place for a picnic. Inviting town square with a few shops and a tequila place. The small ruins honoring the fertility goddess are next to a church and a local man told us that many Maya parents helped...More

This stop wasn't worth bothering with. Immediately off the bus, we were given a long, boring schpiel about black coral by our tour guide, then directed to the shops where nothing was tagged with a price; and when asked, the price quoted was ridiculously overpriced...More

The ruins are essentially one pile of overgrown rocks about 25 feet square and 15 feet high surrounded by vendors and parking and an abandoned town. (That is the “Mayan temple” in the background of our selfie picture.) We were charged $2 per person at...More

If you're into ruins and archaeology, this is a great place to check out. Does involve quite a lot of walking, so wear comfortable walking shoes + take water + allocate enough time (takes over 2.5 hours).

We recently toured this tequila factory on 8/3/17 and at the end of the tour, the guide let us taste different tequilas and went into great detail about how they were honorable and didn't add sugar to their product (yada-yada-yada). I purchased two bottles which...More

Great visit for us with a special tour guide that gave us some family history and cultural activities about one of the first settlements on the island
