We met Geri, who was to be our food tour guide for the day. He and the driver of the van (forgot his name) were great to be with. Geri took us to some awesome places where we were able to sample local foods. This was not tex-mex food but authentic Yucataian food. We were in a traditional neighborhood where... More

My husband and I spent 3 fantastic hours learning how to cook Mayan food. We took a trip to the local market for fresh ingredients & really enjoyed helping make a fantastic meal! Chef Luis even remembered my birthday & had a piece of cake prepared for me! It was such a fantastic day! I highly recommended it!!

OK - Been here, done most of that when it comes to Cozumel. Add to that some mobility challenges this year and we were looking for something different - and are so glad we found the Cozumel Chef Food Tours. Each stop was unique and delicious. Gerry, our guide, was informative and accommodating (I was not the only one on... More

Instead of learning about Cozumel/Mexico through museums and exhibits, this tour allows you to learn through food and conversation with our guide (forgot his name but he was super) and the local people to whom he introduced us as we did a round-robin of six courses of a "lunch". Not Tex-Mex but seemingly "real" local food, some of which was... More

Expecting Tex - Mex, which I hate, this was a very pleasant surprise. Light, fresh, local region flavours and dishes, all explained and presented well by Gerry (and driver Flavio). The 4 local restaurants chosen and the bakery, provided an appropriately paced tour for foodies. The meeting point in Mega shopping mall goes past the eating places on the main... More

Our school teacher tour guide, Jerry, was terrific. Learned about how each region of Mexico has different food and tried the local specialties. We went to 6 different restaurants/food stands and each one had their own specialty. Great to have a chance to get away from the cruise ship retail strip and see the real Cozumel. Highly recommend!

Gerry, our guide took us to 6 different food venues. The food was excellent and his explanation of the wonderful fresh food added to the enjoyable and educational experience. Highly recommend for foodies and those who want to experience the culture of Cozumel and Mexico.

Our guide, Gerry, met us at the MEGA store in San Miguel. He was right on time and our group, which numbered 5 people entered the comfortable van he had provided. We soon left the tourist area and entered into the streets, homes and businesses that sit next to each other in clean, well maintained neighborhoods. Our first stop was... More

What a find! This tour was everything the reviews stated. Informative, thought provoking, funny, honest and delicious food. If you want to break away from the crassness that is the tourist area of Cozumel and experience the "real" side, then this tour ticks all the boxes.

We might have initially thought we were going on a cooking course but that was my mistake - it was an eating course! Our guide was great and he was very informative throughout the trip
