Yes, this place is hard to find. Print out the map on their website and give it to the taxi driver. He had no idea where this place was but easily followed the map and we were there. Our 3 generation family enjoyed this tour, although the kids got a little bored at the beginning with the history of chocolate.... More

This was an amazing excursion, Martin was the best guide, we were able to make chocolate from scratch and learned about the history of mexico and Cozumel. We had tastings of mole and chocolate as well which was amazing and added to the experience.

This wine and chocolate pairing is actually not done at actual factory, but at a Stingray Beach location right along the shore, about 5 minute taxi ride from the Celebrity / Royal Caribbean / Princess Cruise port. We booked this as part of a cruise tour excursion so I'm not sure if you can book this any other way. The... More

We stayed in a local hotel and gave our taxi driver the name of the place ~ it was a bit of zig zagging to get there but once there it was amazing! We washed up with chocolate soap! Then we went to the informational tour with Miguel, he was so knowledgeable and nice and shared a lot about the... More

Hard to find, not even the cab drivers know where it is, were treated very rudely. On the good side - the chocolate was incredible - thought $9 for a chocolate bar was a lot until I saw one half the size in the airport from the same place for $12.

Off the beaten path and about a 40 peso taxi from the Punta Langosta. Worth the visit. Miguel was fun and amazing and offered a great tour. We were lucky enough to have a private tour and be able to make our own chocolate bars with him. You get to actually grind the cocoa beans and mix in other ingredients.... More

we had so much fun. Ask for Miguel..... He was so much fun! He has 7 little ones...that he won't tell you about...so give him a nice tip!! We made chocolate bars and bought lots of chocolate products to go home. The nibs in a jar are the best!!! Buy your kaokao chocolate from them and not along the piers.... More

We had a great time at the Kaokao factory and are sure to do it again next time in Cozumel. It was a hands-on experience, making chocolate, learning about the process, and getting to take it home. All the factory employees were wonderful, polite, and friendly. The gift shop had very reasonable prices for their quality chocolate goodies and we... More

This was not only fun and entertaining, but I really, really valued the history lesson. The tasting and preparation seemed a little rushed. Maybe the tour should be more like an hour and half. I would have liked to have been able to actually taste what we made that day.
