If you're looking for a place to stay with a great diving operation right in front of your room, you're in the right place with Dressel Divers and the Iberostar in Cozumel. We stayed for a week in March for my girlfriend to take her Nitrox (was done in no time) and her advanced OW (which you do on the regular charter dives). There's a great atmosphere at the shop, a young and dynamic crew, good boats and gear, and streamlined processes. We did two great night dives along with all the great sites to see around (Palancar gardens and Santa Rosa wall!). Great instructors (Flo, Anne, Sam, Marguerite and Milly). This was my 3rd or 4th time to Cozumel, but first time staying down south. Best part: the boat rides are super short, so more time to sleep, eat or chill! Special shout-out to Naza from the shop. He set us up with his colleague at Dressel Barcelo near Tulum for amazing cenotes dives the next week. Only 'downside' is that if you plan things last minute, you have to communicate with Dressel in Valencia in the European times before the end of their days, but that's minor. Also great interaction with the Dressel staff there over email. I was a bit skeptical at first when I read about the dive shop in the resort - sometimes this leads to sub-optimal experiences :-) But this was just great, gone prejudices, just great experiences. I would definitely go back (and will at some point) and highly recommend them. I dove over 500 dives in plenty of places, this place was really good in my opinion. Thanks Dressel!

I can't begin to tell you HOW MUCH FUN we had with Dressel Divers! We did 12 dives and enjoyed so MANY of the Dive Masters. It had been 8 years since we've been diving together and everyone was so patient and POSITIVE.....and we had a BLAST! They truly were accommodating on every level. There was only one dive when I felt like there were too many people on the boat, but other than that, I learned SO much about the reef and the creatures and what to look for...... One dive master (Bernice) was SO good at finding the BIG things....like eels, shark, barracuda, turtles etc....and another dive master (Miguel) helped me to appreciate all the LITTLE things like blennies, garden eels, cleaner shrimp, drum fish, etc. Once I told the dive masters I was a Biology teacher, they would immediately look for me and show me EVERYTHING interesting that they could find during the dive. I felt like I learned SO much. After the dive, one divemaster even showed me the pics from his book on the boat to clarify identification of what we had seen during the dive. I LOVED that! The health of the reef looked amazing and the variety of coral colors was beyond belief! There were so many sea fans on one of our dives, I stopped counting. Several dives were planned such that instead of just "hanging there" for the 15ft safety stop and watching everything fly by way below...... we ended up on top of the reef and all we had to do was look at fish during the safety stop!!!! VERY COOL! The beauty of using Dressel Divers at this location, is that you are SO far south on the island and you are simply MINUTES away from the dive sites. It seemed like we'd get the quick briefing about what to expect from the dive....and then it was "hurry and suit up! We are almost there!" In-between dives, we were so close that we could go back to the main pier and rest, use bathrooms, and get drinks right from the resort where we started. VERY COOL. I always felt comfortable and safe. The captains of the boats and boat-mates were VERY helpful and made sure our entry and exit from the ocean was always just right. They are very hard workers with all the equipment and make sure you are taken care of. We had SO much fun!!! I'm already begging my husband (my dive buddy) to plan our next visit back!

This was my first dive trip since getting certified. First of all the location is awesome. I was nervous but soon was under the mentoring hands of Eva!! This little package knew how to help me when I struggled teaching me more skills and not pushing me but encouraging me. Never stopped impressing me with her knowledge but most of all her LOVE of the Ocean. She is a PLUS to this business and I cannot wait to book another trip!!!

The scuba diving with Dressel divers is very good. The boats are large and roomy. They have several dive masters who have been there a long time and know the dive sites very well. They are very organized. They make it fun. When I was there last time there happened to be a surge of extra people and it went from three boats to six boats and I didn’t even notice the difference because they run the front desk so efficiently. It never felt crowded for that two or three days at six boats. Pretty surprising because you would think it would be a little chaotic with double the amount of people. Just an example of how good they are. Of course, the dive masters always point out all of the marine life with an amazing eye. But what is very noticeable to me is how they are able to handle a group with different levels of divers. The photographers have a great dive, the newer divers have a great dive and the swim through lovers have a great dive. It is great for everyone. Everyone comes out of the water with a big smile and an amazing experience and the 60 minute or more dive! And, as always, the marine life, reefs and swim throughs are wonderful in Cozumel. Turtles, eels, nurse sharks, large schools of small and medium fish, barracuda, jacks, the spotted eagle ray in the winter, white rays that hug the bottom, and more. When I go for the week they’re good about keeping the groups consistent so you’ll be with the same people and the same dive master a lot. They also listen to you if you have any preferences or concerns and bend over backwards to accommodate. The dressel crew are hard workers. They have a lot of regular customers. It makes it really fun to see them and dive together. New friends!

Used Dressel Divers in Cozumel for a refresher class for scuba since it has been years since I scuba dived. We did our class with Flo and he was very informative and patient with our group. He has a great teaching style that let you get in and ask questions. I did 2 dives and a snorkeling trip with Dressel. My first time was with Bernice. She is really great for diving. Attentive and would check in with the air while on time. For my first dive back I felt like that was really great of her to do. She is nice and easy going and will answer and questions you have. I also did a snorkel tour with Bernice and she was awesome as well. She would always let you know when there was something to see. There was a shark and a few sea turtles that we saw. It was great to go on the reefs and free dive at times. Bernice even took pictures for another woman in our group. My second dive was with Flo. I had a minor panic attack and told him the best way I could something was wrong. He came by me and helped me out by just being there and descending with me. He was patient and kind.
