Wandering around El Centro of Isla Mujeres is definitely interesting. There are tons of souvenier shops selling the same stuff. But, it's a very colourful part of the island. The buildings are cool with that island feel, the people were friendly and not too pushy...More

Lots of little souvenir shops and they do try to entice you to buy but all friendly and a simple no thank you works. If you need pop or chips an oxo convenience store with good prices. A grocery store across from the church.

My husband and I along with another couple came to the island for a day. Downtown was very busy, but quickly found a golf cart rental. We weren’t totally comfortable with leaving a drivers license, but sure understand they need assurance that they will get...More

The area is a great place to shop at local shops for those souvenirs you want to take back home. There are tons of local bars and restaurants to try the local food.

While perhaps a bit touristy, it no where near approaches the chaos of a cruise ship destination, we enjoy walking around El Centro. The variety of food, restuarants and bars is amazing, and there is an extraordinary amount of artists and their ware offered as...More

We have been going here for over 20 years. It is getting more and more developed, but we still love it. Great place to visit. Easy to get to from Cancun.

This place has lots of bars, restaurants, live music, shops (like Chinatown in NY), jewelry stores, etc. They all offer you free tequila to come shop in their stores but don't accept the first price, they will ALWAYS go down.

Get pesos, you will save significantly. Also refrain from using credit cards, I had two different cards compromised while on Isla this last November.

There is a shop right at the zocala across from the malecon. You can't miss it, as it is purple! They have a fabulous reputation.

Yes lots. It's really grown in the last 5 years so you will be in for a shock how much it has grown. Both good and bad. Probably over 50 restaurants/ vendors on el Centro. There is a small shack on the corner that says... More
