Fun to walk along and have the wranglers try to get you into their shops. Some great little bars and shopping all along, don't talk to all the guys or you'll never get anywhere. Just smile and keep walking unless you want to see their shop. Don't be afraid to haggle, all prices are negotiable. Make sure to get down... More

This shopping district is beautiful. It has a view of the ocean, well known, name brand shops as well as smaller shops where you can "haggle." We went to Karen's for drinks and had some of the best drinks we had while in Mexico!

A long outdoor shopping mall - some very good bargains at the higher end stores (i.e. 30% to 50% less for Pandora). Don't be shy of the smaller restaurants along the way (much less expensive than the bigger ones with good food and cheap beer). If you are not comfortable with the smile, nod, and walk away from the constant... More

Visit each time we go to Occidental at xcaret. Nice to visit the chapel on 5th ave. We renewed our wedding vows (40th) last year and padre was awesome. Friendly barter in shops. Also great bars and eateries everywhere. Be careful some of the sly vendors will recognize bracelet and say that you were at their table, bar etc last... More

I have been going to mexico many years and I know they always were trying to get you to go in their stores but it is getting worst. For me it doesn't bother me I can say to them sorry not interested but for some people it can be intimidating. Be polite but tell them you aren't interested. Don't let... More

Touristy - yes! People wanting to sell you stuff- always! Fun-absolutely! If you're from a resort with wristbands you're an easy target for sellers to lure you with, "I was your waiter last night, you don't recognize me do you?! Come in to my grandfather's shop!" Just smile and say no and keep moving. Watch your prices. Everyone sells similar... More

This was our 8th visit to PDC in 10 years. Each year we stroll along 5th late afternoon, early evening. Each year it's gotten bigger with malls and shopping we can find back home. It's lost the charm that it once had. Sure there is lots to do, plenty of places to eat and drink - which we love! But... More

I would say that this is a good idea for one visit. A lot of the shops have the same tourist items. But there are some hidden gems.
