The view was amazing, but and it’s a big one- right in the beginning our guide was explaining on how he get paid (only tips). Then he asked me where we from, after we answered he told us that because of our nationality we won’t going to give him tip.right after my friend light was not working and again he asked for extras charge, and it didn’t end there we asked him for explanation about the place and he started yelling at us .

Amazing tour with and even better guide!. We went there on a friday and did the afternoon tour. All the staff there were very friendly and even though we were in a bit of a rush to get back for a wedding they made us relax and really enjoy the experience.
Our Guide Cesor Gonzales was amazing! Super friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor which added to the experience. I highly recommend this since it is something different from just swimming in a cenote. Loved it

Amazing caves what a way to see them. The problem is the company that run it. They won’t allow you to take any pictures or videos claiming it’s too dark (that’s a lie) they wanted us to buy our own photos that we took. What ruined the whole experience is they don’t take great pictures of you in the caves but pushy to buy them for a crazy amount. The worst part of the whole thing is the pushy guy called Angelo who is only interested for tips. He won’t let you leave with out tipping him then when you do he’s not happy with the amount. Speaking to customers like they are children. There are plenty of other places to visit under 40 dollars. This guy really needs to rethink his customer service before he demands tips

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE, even better than expected. Thank you César González, you were an excellent guide, your enthusiasm for this magical place was evident from the attention that you devoted to teaching about the geology, ecology, and anthropology of this site. As someone who has visited many parts of the world including Mexico and the Yucatán Peninsula, I can say this is one of the best experienced I ever had.

Our guide Angelo was great and the cenote was amazing!! It was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The caves are really neat and a nice change from the open cenotes you find everywhere.

We skipped Cozumel and decided to do our own excusion at Chaak Tun and it was completely worth it! Our tour guide Cesar Gonzalez was amazing and gave our tour in both english and spanish (he can also do french!). He showed us all through the cenote as well as gave some history of cenotes and their importance in Mayan culture and then further Christian belief. We paid the extra $40 to bring our own camera where we took not great photos. The park has a photographer that will take your photos throughout the experience, but that wasn't clear when we began the tour. 10/10 would do this again

Amazing cenote and tour!
PAYMENT: Our Underground Adventure tour was $40usd a person. We paid the deposit of $16usd online to reserve the tour, then paid the remaining balance at the end of the tour. They accepted credit card onsite. Bring extra cash in pesos to tip your guide. ***Make sure you screenshot or take a picture of your reservation code after booking online to prove you already paid the deposit!! I was supposed to receive a confirmation email, but it was never sent.***
EQUIPMENT: We were given snorkeling goggles, water shoes, a life vest, a flashlight, and a locker. Wetsuits were offered for those who wanted them. You cannot take anything with you, including phones. They have a photographer who takes pictures you can purchase after the tour. Bring your own towels if you want to dry off afterwards.
TOUR: Angelo was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone in the group enjoyed their experience. We had a group of 12 people.
The cenotes were all underground. Some parts we could walk through, and some parts we floated/swam. Using the snorkel goggles, we could see the incredible depth of the cenotes and a few catfish. We visited 2 cenotes with water and 1 dry cenote.
***Note: Arrive 30 minutes before your reservation time. We booked our tour for 9am and arrived at 9am, then were told that we should have been there at 8:30am. Nowhere on the reservation did it tell us to arrive early. We also never received a confirmation email with details, so we didn't know. We ended up having to wait until 10am for our tour.***

This tour is a must do. Most amazing experience. Our tour guide, Angelo was beyond AMAZING. He made the tour exceptional with his humor, kindness and knowledge. Angelo was very hospitable and cheerful. We swam and snorkeled the cave, allowing for a time of complete darkness and silence where we collectively spent time in gratitude. The tour ended with tequila sampling and a visit into town where Angelo took us to a very nice restaurant. Plenty of time for pictures and taking it all in.

It's a beautiful place, and our guide Angelo was really passionate and explained everything with a lot of details. I would totally come back again.
There're two things I would improve though, Angelo made some fatphobic comments like "the vest won't fit you" and give me one that was way too big for me, I was really uncomfortable wearing it through the entire experience. Later he handled us a piece of a stalactite and said "You don't have to worry of getting sink by the heavy of the rock because you are cheating and will float because of your weight", I think all of these was really uncalled for...
The second issue is the pictures were really meh for the $40 USD price, I would have totally buy them specially because you can't take your cellphone down there (take your GoPro if you have one, I bet your photos will be much better than the ones they sell) but they were kind of bad, improvised and blurry...
The rest of the experience was totally worth it and the place is amazing.

We booked with transportation and had a long wait for the others in our group to arrive. Disappointed that the tour was so short. Way too much emphasis on tipping and upselling. Tequila tasting promised but not delivered. When our guide, Armando, asked what we would be tipping him and we responded, he made it clear he was displeased and did not seem at all appreciative. I regret leaving any tip for him, and wish I had given it all to our driver, who was gracious, as I have come to expect Mexican people to be. I would not recommend this excursion..

We went to this Cenote privately, it was very inexpensive to take a taxi there from PDC and we paid on sight (we did make reservations online the day before). As others have said, it's required to wear a very tight fitting life jacket that keeps your head a float. There is really not much swimming. But you do have to feel comfortable in a cave and sometimes dark. It's cool, they give everyone an underwater flashlight, you wear ~ your wrist. Tis a fun family adventure, also to learn about the jungle.

Our office is coming to Mexico on a cruise May 27 through June 1st. Is it okay to get private transportation to come to you instead of booking this through the cruise line? What do you recommend and why?
Respectfully,

Can someone that doesn’t know how to swim be able to go into the cenote?
Yes, usually using a floating vest is mandatory in these kind of places so, there you have it.

Yes it would, since a considerable amount of the tour is in the cavern.
