Went up this trail trough the copper mines and over the top of Slieve Mishkish. Quite eerie but interesting to see. Trail is steep but manageable with rest breaks.

Before leaving Allihies we made a point to visit at least one of the historic copper mining sites. We were quite taken with the views and although you cannot access the ruins directly (there are still open mine shafts) we were happy to get close to the Mountain Mine. We also had a great view of some mine shafts and... More

My partner and I took the walk up to the Copper mine engine house and enjoyed the splendid views, looking down at the bay and Alliihies.

We parked our car at the Copper Mine Museum where we collected a map from the very friendly and helpful staff. The walk commences uphill through... More

I visited the mine trail while on a tour and found it fascinating! The views from the top are amazing and the road driving down is terrifying, but fun! If your driving this way, you should make a short stop here.

Excellent hiking trail, not too strenuous for those 'non-hikers'. The surrounding views are breathtaking. Wished I had more time to do the entire loop from the town up to the mine and then down around the coast to the beach.
