More
Jinshanling Great Wall is located in Luanping County, Chengde, Hebei Province, 80 miles (130 kilometers) northeast of Beijing. Visited the Jinshanling Great Wall section the first week in January and it was very cold but one of the best things I have ever done. This section of the wall does not have a lot of people and I took some beautiful pictures. Sections...More

Having visited both the Mutianyu and Jinshaling sections of the Great Wall, we found the Jinshaling section much more enjoyable. The scenery around the wall is beautiful with no encroachment from buildings or towns. The views are spectacular, with minimal crowds. The walls are restored,...More

We visited in oktober, a week after 'golden week' . Our guide advised us to walk from the east gate to the west gate. If you do this, you have the 'nasty' bit in the beginning of the walk and after a few hours on...More

This is one of the quietest sections of the Great Wall, and one of the more challenging in terms of uneven ground, limited retaining walls to the side, and some very steep bits along the way. The views are spectacular, and it's a huge bonus...More

We went in Feb and it was a bit chilli but there was literally no one there. Jinshanling is approximately 125km from Beijing or about 2 1/2 hours on the bus. The photos we got were of the wall only and not a heap of...More

One of the furthest sections which made for a long day trip but so spectacular. Very hard work but well worth it. A bit of fitness required which would make this walk not for everyone. Not a lot of other visitors there the day we...More

It is a perfect place to stay away form crowds. Located about 80 miles/130km from Beijing (it means it is one of the farther sections). Anyway you won't regret. Views are amazing, you will walk between sharped mountains, enjoying the nature, with no human activity....More

I've been to The Great Wall before at Mutianyu, however, the group was there for only 90 minutes. That was completely inadequate for anything but taking a quick walkabout, shooting a few snaps, and buying souvenirs. This time, I wanted a more meaningful experience at...More

Not fully restored part of the wall, this means it isn't an easy trail. Lots of climbing and sometimes you need to jump out of a watchtower. It made it challenging in good way for me. I had a pick up from my hostel and...More
