Batopilas Canyon is spectacular. The road leading into the canyon is relatively new, but not well maintained. There were serious rock slides and rock falls that had not been cleaned up. Much of the road does not have structures to prevent rocks from falling or sliding onto the road. So in most places, on hairpin curves, there was only one... More

We drove down the 140 KM from Creel to Batopilas in our VW camper van. It was a spectacular trip down but as many have said it was full of hairpin turns sharper than any you have used in your hair and fallen rocks or boulders scattered on the road making navigation extremely slow. But better to enjoy the views.... More

This review is primarily about the Amigo Trails company that planned our trip into the Copper Canyons. My boyfriend and I just returned from our trip to Mexico. The first part of our trip was dedicated to discovering the Copper Canyons. What a trip!!! And the sheer awesomeness of it was in large part, due to the fabulous coordination and... More

We loved this area. We did the tour with Ivan from the 3 Amigos Tours and really enjoyed being able to get into the heart of canyon country. A highlight for me was seeing the brightly clothed women and children descending a steep and indistinct mountain path from their homes 3 or more miles into the hills as they gathered... More

Went on a 3 day tour to the Copper Canyon and Batopilas from Creel. The descent into Batopilas Canyon from the road is amazing, we had someone driving us so we could enjoy the views. The drive itself is a big part of the experience, the road winds it way down into the canyon in a series of hairpin bend.... More

This was the highlight to our trip to the copper canyon. You absolutely must make this journey. The road is very good but something you will never forget. We booked a small package through Cesar at Casa Margaritas in Creel who also own a hotel in Batopilas. He speaks excellent English and provides transportation and tours as well.

What an amazing trip to the bottom of Copper Canyon. The ride there and back is made up of sharp curves, land slides and ice and snow but worth it to see the views and stay in this quaint remote town. We used S&G Tours

Do this! It's an incredible drive (thankful we had a driver and weren't doing it ourselves). Beautiful views. Not much after you get to town but it's quaint and comfortable, full of 'real' people. We enjoyed it.

I fully recommend this trip as it is truly unique. Its not for the fainthearted or ones who easily get a queasy stomach. The many curves and hairpin turns are endless. Even though the road now consists of two lanes and is almost fully asphalted, it is still not easy to navigate as huge rocks and stones of any size... More

We were in batopilas in April in was a long trip (4) hours, due to land slides that were not cleared by anyone. It is still worth the trip! Very nice people in the town, met the mayor, went through the museum & had dinner with a local family home!!! Would like to go back, never felt uncomfortable, or worried... More
