Loved visiting El Charco on an Audubon birdwalk. Besides seeing a variety of birds, there are many types of cactus and trees to behold here. It is a beautiful place. Be sure to walk the area that is along the gorge for spectacular scenery.

For anyone who has travelled and seen national parks and preserves, this is hardly a wondrous sight to behold. But if you've got nothing better to do, desire some open air, walking, and looking at a few varieties of cacti, this may be for you.

We had a PROFESSIONAL Tour Guide (Antonio Gomez) who walked us through the SMA Botanical Gardens and explained the various cactus types... this spot was really enjoyed by my kids... but I strongly recommend having a tour guide to get the most out of this...More
