Good centre but my god trying to get into it and out of it is a complete nightmare. Was sat in my car for 45 minutes coming and 50 getting out. Would totally put me off shopping there in the future

Wednesday 3rd August and we visited this massive Shopping Mall in the centre of Dundrum.
A bright modern Mall with a 120 plus stores it is the largest shopping mall in Ireland. With it's wide walkways and many escalators and lifts it is easy for everyone to navigate around.
It is home to a number of familiar household names, Primark, Marks & Spencer, Zara, Boots, Dunnes Stores, Harvey Nichols and so many more. There are numerous Designer Stores, Timberland, Calvin Klein, Boss to name but a few.
They all stand side by side with other small independent shops to create a shopping experience.
Visitors to the mall would certainly not go hungry with the number of restaurants, coffee shops and cafes. Foods of the world are on offer here with virtually every type of cuisine catered for.
It really does have everything here including a Theatre, cinema, medical centre, Travel Agents and Tesco supermarket over three floors. Think it would be easier and a lot quicker to list what is not here.
We did enjoy walking around the outdoor Square with the bars, food kiosks and the water features. Everything here combined to create a village like atmosphere.
The centre boasts having 3,400 car park spaces.

I live nearby and use Dundrum Centre a lot. It really has everything you need and everything is spotlessly clean and so well laid out. The security are absolutely professional and there is a wide range of different shops, including my faves Easons and Golden Discs. The cinema is also fantastic.

Nice shopping center BUT their policy regarding vouchers is appalling. After one year a sizeable amount is taken monthly from every voucher. And this is during such a disruptive period, with lockdown and restrictions. When some people were very anxious about going into a busy shopping center. This is NOT good enough!!!!

Dundrum has something for everyone. Drop in the pick up your weekly basics in Tesco, and brows the malls looking at the great fashion offering. Big Cinema and manny restaurants to choose from. That also have an outside playground!

Sadly, whether it is as a result of Brexit or the pandemic, this shopping centre is not what it was. Most of the shops are for young girls and are for casual wear only so if you’re looking for something for a wedding or graduation, you won’t get it.

Spent 120 euro in an hour and a half and then had to pay 3 euro for parking. It's disgraceful and a rip off. The various shops should validate parking.

My family & I love Dundrum from the range of shops to the food areas outside. Each time we go to Milano’s to eat as the staff are super nice & the food is always fantastic. As we were staying in a hotel for a few nights we decided to go into the tesco to get bottles of water & sweets for the kids but when I say the staff were rude it is an actual understatement I still cannot believe how I was treated. I went to the what I thought was the fast checkout but apparently it is customer service desk which is laughable because this woman Gwendoline clearly never got any customer service training. So I was rudely told I should only have 3 items I said sorry I didn’t realise & I would have moved to a different checkout but she was already checking out my items another tesco employee who was in the queue behind me than started being rude & said this is a customer service desk & they were set up this way for the last 2yrs & could I not read signs. I explained it was the first time in the shop but it would be my last as they were so rude they than both chatted amongst themselves about me in front of my son. I was shocked & as I walked out the staff woman in the queue who I wasn’t even dealing with but felt the need to butt in said loudly & very nastily oh good bye have a lovely evening. I was so angry & upset I was fuming for about an hour after. Then I looked on the reviews on their own website & I am not alone in saying how rude they are, it seems to be the theme for the store. The four stars is for the rest of Dundrum but tesco wouldn’t even get one star off of me

The mall had many of the typical shops (sporting stores including top fast fashion brands, there were also food stalls, and a large grocer). I would be quite pleased if I lived close to the mall. As a vacationer, I don't think it's worth the drive to see the mall if you aren't already in Dundrum. However, if you plan to venture out of the mall and walk around as well, then maybe, as there are some nice pubs and such in the area and it's a cool location. So, worth a visit if you plan to stay there longer and take in the area.

Dundrum is predominately a shopping Mall for the under 35s. From a totally economic perspective, 'older people' are going to be in the majority, and basically there is not that much for women over 50 who are still stylish and want to look well, never mind the 60year olds.
Marks @ Spencers is OK, and somewhat overpriced. Pamela Scott is good to but the whole centre is primarily aimed at middle class , young people. The architecure is very like an Airport Terminal with all the Elevators. The quality of air detiorates as you go downstairs and when you go to Brambles or other Coffee Shops, it can be stressful with music vying with other sounds. Kids screaming..... I live very near by and have to say, I don't find it a joyful experience to shop here. Air quality is bad, unlike Blanchardstown there is no 'real' air coming into the centre, it is aimed towards reasonably wealthy punters and unlike other Centres in Dublin, has v little in cheap Shops except for penneys. Harvey Nichols barely has a customer in it when i go there and House of Fraser lacks any type of a feeling of luxury and having spent money on cosmetics recently, I was appalled to be asked 'Do you want a Bag? that would never happen in Brown Thomas. Why are single people ignored in places like Tesco where requests for a small push trolly have been ignored, even though they have them in Merrion ? Why are the toilets so inaccessible ?

Thank you for your reply, I am glad you don't have problems. I am a very young for my age fashion conscious person. I also love kids. I am talking about children not under control, Ferla teenagers and general bad manners, oh and because I live near the Centre, it is NOT a novelty for me, it is a necessity for Food Shopping. I think it is a terribly long walk for mothers and their children to get to any of the toilets and from a security point of view, there are far too many long corridors.
Again, perhaps for some, money is not a problem, but unlike other Centres, Dundrum has tried to catch the upper income market [it was built during the boom ] the infrastructure around it isnt just the M5- and for Taxis and people who have to live very near... it is a nightmare with traffic. Prices are that bit more expensive than other Centres. Again The air is appalling and I would go so far as to say it is a 'sick' building. There is absolutely no sense of friendliness as you would get in a smaller centre like Nutgrove. I guess if you only visit now and again, this isnot an issue.
I agree that its alot under one roof but you cannot get a needle and thread or a photocopier within the Centre. Security is tight and at times it is a nightmare with so many people. Again mostly youngish, and unruly kids, I disagree regarding alot of the restaurants which are pricey but not great as eateries go. It is sadly not a place for elderly people and there is no pleasure in shopping there. This is my opinion as somebody who lives locally.
