Campo Cortez staff reveal the wonders of their home - grey whale babies and mamas, osprey nesting (on top of our eco-cabin and the group bathrooms), sunrises, sunsets, octopus in tide pools, kayaking to the mangrove, & stargazing. Conservationist guides Maria Theresa, Lorna, Rodrigo, NoLe, & Marie share their love and knowledge of the San Ignacio eco-system. At Campo Cortez,... More

Had an excellent time. Wsa able to have all sorts of encounters with grey whales including actually petting two whales on separate days. The accommodations were fine and the food was delicious. The staff was always there to enhance the experience any way they could and were very knowledgeable about the whales.

The grey whales were like big puppies coming to us to be rubbed allover. Tongue included. They were such gentle creatures as they gentle touched our boat. The wisdom in their eyes was amazing. The moms and babies came to us. A highlight in anyones life.

This was absolutely the best, though very primitive, vacation ever. We went out twice a day in 18' pangas to see whales. For 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon we were totally surrounded by moms and their calves. It was fantastic being close enough to scratch a whales back. Once we were with the whales,... More

Our whale watching (and petting) adventure far exceeded our expectations. The guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The accommodations were perfect for the location. The food offerings were great and the oysters were the freshest ever. I can't say enough about the thrills of sighting and being able to touch these magnificent creatures. We have great admiration for the community at... More

Magical. Trip of a lifetime. Wondrous. There really are no words to fully describe interacting with gray whales that want to interact with you. Touching them, looking into their eyes, getting sprayed in the face by their exhalations, and feeling their giant bodies rubbing against the bottom of the panga are unforgettable experiences! The only suggestion I would make is... More

There aren't enough words to say how magical, wonderful, super, mind blowing, emotional, soul changing, heart warming trip. From the sleeping area, food, staff, and oh yeah, those whales, it is mind boggling. I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the point. Well worth every dollar.

Everything was better than I could have imagined! The food was incredible (homemade tortillas at every meal!); camp was kept impeccably clean; and staff were always kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the Baja peninsula and the bioreserve. And of course - the whales! I was there when the babies were a bit older, so they were curious and would... More
