My wife and I went fishing for a full day during a recent visit to Cabo. We went on “Top Gun”, a 33-foot cruiser. We were on the cruiser from 8:00am until 4:00pm. It was really great sightseeing, fishing, and just relaxing on the water. We caught five nice sized fish, including a 23-pound Amber Jack and a 21-pound Rooster... More

This was a surprise to me to see marlin jumping out of the water. We went out in boats two of our vacation days and both days saw many marlin jumping out of the water. It was very exciting!

Great spot to try fishing for Marlin or Sailfish. Check the seasonal charts to pick the best times for the species. Strippers start moving down in January following the warm water plumes from their mating grounds at Mag Bay and most of the Jan-April fishing is done on the Pacific side (rougher water) at Golden Gate or Jamie Banks. I live in Florida and flew to Cabo San Lucas to catch my first marlin. I wasn't dissappointed because I caught two stripe marlins! We released them but caught aDorado (Mahi Mahi) that was cooked for us by a local restaurant. Best fishing trip ever!

I chartered a private boat, not a Panga but a "six pack" boat for my family of 4. It cost me 500.00 us dollars, and included Mexican License, tackle and bait. The crew was amazing they tied our lines, cast our poles and told us to sit back and wait for the fish. They were right. We caught 2 marlins,... More

Over the years my family and I have gone fishing many times in Cabo. To me, Marlin Alley is the area on the Pacific side near the old Lighthouse. It's in that exact area where we have caught numerous marlin. Each time we have caught a marlin we released them as marlin is not the greatest fish to eat. So... More

Both my friend and my son caught their first marlin ever while in Cabo. I caught my first of several about 10 years ago. Little wonder they refer to it as the marlin capital of the world.
