Overview
More
Volcanic in origin, these islands serve as an oasis amid the Sea of Cortez, 250 miles off the Baja Peninsula coast. The raw lava flows and active volcanoes in these islands resemble the lost world of "Jurassic Park," which seems fitting as these outpost islands, including Roca Partida, beckon not just to giant mantas, but to a host of big animals. The manta behaviour here is unique in the world. The 12-to-16-foot giant mantas of Socorro seek out intimate interactions with divers. Dolphins, whale sharks, humpback whales, silky sharks, hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks and more can also be found here, depending on the time of year. Socorro is accessed by liveaboard dive boats, and promises to be the trip of a lifetime.

Fantastic recent trip on liveaboard MV Valentina. Great guides, crew and marine life. Giant pacific mantas, numerous whitetip reef sharks, silkys, Galapagos and hammerheads.

Never a bad dive. Doesn't matter which live aboard you go with as you'll see the same pelagic creatures. Only difference is how well the boats are appointed, some better than others and some boats did 4-5 dives a day. I was disappointed as it...More

I had the privilege of spending 8 days and 5 full days of scuba diving off the Nautilus Explorer in the Revillagigedo island chain of Socorro, Roca Partida and San Benedicto. This was, without doubt a bucket list experience. The scuba diving was exceptional with...More

We dove with the Nautilus Belle Amie. The boat and crew were FANTASTIC. The manta interaction was wonderful. Lots of white tip sharks, some hammerheads, occasional tiger and Galapagos sharks and fun snorkeling with silky sharks. There were schooling fish in places. The bottom life...More

Traveled to the Revillagigedos Archipelago (AKA Socorro Island) in May with my daughter aboard the Nautilus Explorer. We couldn't have asked for a better dive experience. First, the trip over was great (compared to our Guadalupe crossing a few years back). Weather and seas, calm,...More

I went there to dive on board of Solmar V, unforgettable trip: big mantas played with us and enjoyed our bubbles, dolphins appeared out of the blue; we met curious silkies, Galapagos sharks looking grumpy, visited 'shark store' on Roca Partida, where small white tip...More

These are simply incredible dive sites for advanced divers. Giant Pacific mantas and sharks are the drawing card here. Their supporting actors are dolphins and whales. Be prepared for strong horizontal and vertical currents.

I don't think this is a snorkelling destination. It is definitely not a reef diving destination, that tend to be shallower and therefore good for snorkelling. We spent most of our dives at around 20m for the big stuff which... More

Also as per Phil S do not under estimate the sea going to the islands. Our boat was full of experienced divers that don't get seasick and some were struggling as its that lumpy! So take some tablets just for the ride there... More
