Great place, so close to Melbourne and nearby Gembrook is a gem. Would not recommend going on a public holiday weekend as inconsiderate large groups camp there. However actually venue is peaceful and beautiful. No water and drop toilets only so be prepared. Will definitely return.

The park has a huge number of walking tracks some of which are a bit steep in spots. Wild life is everywhere. No water much apart from the camping area which is a must know

Free camping makes for a super cheap trip, easy drive, 4wd tracks surround the area, peaceful and clean, complete with a communal toilet and tables. Does the job nicely.

There are plenty of sites and it's now free camping. There's a river right near the camp sites to collect water and drop toilets. Plenty of wood... More

Used to come here all the time as a young single fella - a place so easily accessible from the suburbs that we'd often decide around 10pm on a friday night to pack up the swags and head off for the weekend. Now nearly a decade since the last time i headed to the sticks i decided to take the... More

On our travels we came across 'Kurth and his Kiln'. Lovingly restored by volunteers anxious to show how Australia met the challenge of austerity measures resulting from fuel shortages during WW2. Information boards were very illuminating, providing interesting details on the history. The location of the buildings are in shaded woods with a nearby stream feeding the mill pond which... More
