From the 350+ year old Puebla Cathedral to the nearby Palacio Municipal de Puebla (city hall building) - all of which surrounds a beautiful, tree-covered central park - I would like to proclaim that Puebla's Zocalo is the best city square in all of Mexico! Even if you prefer El Zocalo in Mexico City (and rightfully so, considering their own... More

I found the Zocalo de Puebla to be one of the most beautiful Zocalos in all of Mexico. Surrounded by beautiful buildings and next to the stunning Puebla Cathedral, it is a lovely place to visit at any time of day or night. I visited the Zocalo every day of my trip to Puebla. You can easily catch a tour... More

This large park in the center of the historical district is a must see, or should I say, a must enjoy. When you're ready to stop for a breather from all the walking, or just want to people watch on a bench in the shade of large trees, the Zocalo has it all. A classic large fountain, restaurants that ring... More

Beautiful zocolo, but surprisingly small considering the size of the city. Great people watching. The restaurants around it are very touristy, although offering local dishes. Enjoy the park for what it is, but venture a few blocks away for better food. Don't miss the Cathedral on the corner. ( you can't miss it)! The entire zocolo is surrounded by beautiful... More

The zócalo is beautiful and it is nicely maintained although quite busy. Sadly, there are many tourist buses parked here but that is a reality in any Mexican city. We had breakfast at one of the restaurants on the portales and the food was terrible, service shameful and so overpriced! That was our most expensive and worst meal in all... More

The zocalo was outstanding, the different restaurants were very accommodating. While visiting we spent every night at the Zocalo, watching the buskers, having coffee or having drinks. There is a lot to do in the nearby streets including day markets.

Compared to most Mexican cities of this size, the zocala feels quite small. Mostly outdoor cafe's surround it with a nice green space at the center..There is a very beautiful church on one corner that should not be missed. A street just off of it is pedestrian and quite interesting. It actually seemed to be more active then the actual... More

The Zocalo of Puebla is nice, but it has changed over the years. A few years ago it did not have that many Tourist buses so it was more like a real city Zocalo. Now it is packed with Tourist Buses which make the city seem a little fake.
