A small and lazy town, a bit scruffy and uninviting. Beach is nice but lots of rather shacky looking places to stay and a huge, block long deserted hotel. We will not return. Much better to visit nearby Barra de Navidad

Fonda Dona Lencha, a lovely little place where you'll get excellent chile rejenos or other dishes and rub shoulders with local residents or a ranchero from the hills, who will tell you about his she-goats and "the most beautiful beach" near his village. Dona Lencha...More

Hi... My wife and I are going to Melaque in a few weeks.Do you know if their are and banks or ATMs in the area? We prefer to get our pesos from an ATM on a weekly basis but if we need to, we can bring them from home. Thanks Alan Wolfe

Anyone have any contact info or general info on fishing charters from Melaque or Barra? Would much prefer either place than out of Manzanillo.
