Nice place to run!
Nov 2020
I ran the section that goes through the Jungle near the Playa Linda. well maintained; felt very safe. This section was very shaded, and not along a road. so it was a nice run.

Wonderfull bike trail.

Great ride both ways. On the North end Ixtapa island and corodilles on the far side 15 K away wonderfully landscaped residental villas tucked quietly away from the bustle of town center.

Impeccable bike paths. Such beautiful scenery, trees and flower are so well maintained. Cycling was one of the highlights of our trip.

Ciclopista in Ixtapa is we well maintained
Jan 2020
We thoroughly enjoyed riding the Ciclopista path from Ixtapa with our rented bicycles.
The path is well maintained and we rode part of the older path back from Playa Linda.

Great break from the resort
Jan 2020
Took a short tour from our resort (Azul) and were led for just over an hour trip. Nice path and some different wildlife to see. We didn’t go too far along the path but it would have been time well spent. Worth checking out if you’re going to Ixtapa

A Great Place to Walk
Jan 2020 • Couples
We walked the section of the bike path that goes through the nature reserve, about 2.3 miles, heading south starting across the street from Playa Linda. The path is well maintained, very Uncrowded with pedestrians or bikers, mostly in the shade and so peaceful. We saw and heard lots of birds, some beautiful butterflies but no other wild life. We enjoyed ourselves immensely

An incredible bike-running trail.

I’m a full time marathon runner, the Ixtapa Ciclopista was an outstanding trail to run. I ran 13 miles / 21 kms while visiting Ixtapa last week, what a great experience.

A unique 10 kms long bike-trail of a natural environment with a variety of fauna and flora. The trail begins at the Marina of Ixtapa, continues through a golf course then by a majestic ecological park and ends at Paya Bonita. Going through the park one must bring water for the 5 km long inside and a head light if is dark. There is a convenient store OXXO outside the park to but water or anything. From OXXO there is a choice to go to Ixtapa back through the park or to the left by the hotels. The entire circle is about 18-20 miles long
The entire trail is niveles paved and red painted with beautiful wide lanes with trees on both sides. This is one of the most beautiful trails I have ever run. Remember the only disadvantage is that the isn’t any water fountain though out the route. Enjoy it ! (Don’t go through the park after dark, there are some surprising creatures that habitat there)

Ciclopista de Ixtapa

This cyclist adventure includes well-paved beautiful wide lanes with trees on both sides and curves leading you through a surprise at every corner. You see exotic birds, and small land creatures that are described on wood panels with illustrations & descriptins of the fawna that you're discovering in real life. It's impressive in length & scope, it's well worth an exploration, you can walk or bike the extent of the cycle path or walk a shorter route depending on where you begin. I saw mothers & father's with children in their wheeled chariots. I both biked & walked my bike to take in & fully appreciate it's beauty. The trees are both strikingly gorgeous & practical offering shade along the path. It's a hidden gem offering serenity & excitement. I visited at least three times, each time witnessing something new.

Thought It Would Be More Fun.....
Jul 2019
My daughters and I rented bikes and cycled the entire ciclopista. It was very beautiful, but pretty strenuous and long. The mosquitos were also pretty bad. We did see a turtle on the path that was sooooo cute! We put him back in the jungle so that he wouldn't get hurt. It was a nice cycling trip, but thought it would be more fun......

Well maintained cycle path

Ixtapa's cyclopista is a dedicated red-asphalt that runs from the marina to the Grand Azul (strictly I think it's called the Hotel Azul Ixtapa Grand Suites) for Playa Linda with a side loop through an eco-park. It's also possible to take a short cut from the start at the marina over a rather rough cobbled private road to get back to the main road (and cyclopista) at the end of a quite sharp hill. Most of the way is on a smooth red surface (shades of Milton Keynes redways!) but at one point on a paralleling service road. There were a few unguarded holes at the far end, but overall it is an excellent path. At the summit, there’s a good view across a small bay. The overall distance is about 7km each way.

There are a small number of bike hire shops in the village. Although they post their prices outside, be prepared to negotiate, especially if you want to use a bike for several days.
