Just don’t go.
Jul 2021 • Couples
Walked out of the taxi, onto the water taxi then one loop around the island (about 10 min walk) then walked back onto the water taxi and back in a cab. The whole experience was about one hour. Just don’t go here. That’s all.

Visit another beach and snorkel!
May 2021
It was enjoyable to see another beach area, to snorkel, and see families enjoy the "ice cream man." Luis was our guide (Luis Humberto De La Maza Blanco Tour Guide Service & Transportation). He really cared about us getting the best experience and seeing the most possible. He went out of his way to show us as much as possible while snorkeling. No need to be able to swim to snorkel with him. He takes you in a very safe manner, with life jackets and a boogie board. We had a delicious lunch and if you want an extra item, I highly recommend the Pina Colada. It comes in a pineapple in a very decorative manner!

Ok, but what is the hype?
Mar 2021 • Couples
Took an overpriced Viator tour here for five hours. It was Ok, but not outstanding. Swimming is just so so in a bay with boats. Coral side is hard to swim. The fish were ok, but just average. Water clarity was not very good. I think you could skip this island. Restaurant we ate at was also just so. Small portion paid by our tour operator! Bathrooms were pretty gross.

I don't see the Allure
Mar 2020
My wife and I went here in Feb 2020. We had heard a lot about it, though nothing specific. It was expensive to eat there. They haul everything in. No power. Water seems to be a little warmer for swimming. Perhaps it's just me, but I don't get it!?

Fantastic Day!
Jan 2021 • Family
We spent a wonderful day on Ixtapa Island! First, we purchased tickets for the ferry (now 80 pesos per person for a round trip). As we were heading to the ferry boarding area, a young man came up to us and offered to be our guide on the island. We declined because we wanted to do our own thing and already had snorkel equipment with us. Next we were asked to walk slowly through a small booth-like structure where we were sprayed with something (I assume it was to disinfect us, but hopefully we won’t be glowing in the dark later!) The ferry (a small fishing boat) was there, so we were able to board immediately. We did not experience any hassle about tips as mentioned in other reviews but had one ready to hand over. The ferry captain took us directly to the swimming beach, which is spot 2. We had already decided to go to Lili Cipriani Restaurant, so we bypassed the guys attempting to wave us over.

At Lili’s, we were greeted by Abner aka “Cuba,” a very friendly fellow. He led us to Coral beach (a quick walk) and asked us which beach we would prefer (there is seating available on both sides). We decided on Coral because we intended to snorkel most of the time. It was a good call. Abner helped us find seats and get settled in. We saw lots of different and colorful fish, and the water was clear and refreshing. We didn’t bring flippers but had water shoes, which are a must since the coral can be quite sharp. After snorkeling for a while, it was time for some refreshments. My husband ordered a pina colada, which we both agreed was the best we had ever tasted. I had the mango daiquiri, which was good but very sweet. Those drinks were served in a cup for 120 pesos, but you could get them in a pineapple for 200. For lunch, we ordered guacamole (90 pesos), fish tacos (200 pesos) and lobster tacos (350 pesos), cheese quesadillas (120? can’t remember), and nachos (90 pesos). The tacos came as a serving of three and were huge. Everything was delicious, but the guacamole and fish tacos were especially good. The food is cooked over wood fires, so the fish had a smoked flavor. We paid in pesos, but I think we could have used a credit card. We would happily return to Lili Cipriani if we go back to the island because the great service and scenery made for a very enjoyable day.

Beautiful Ixtapa Island
Nov 2020
Ixtapa Island is a beautiful escape from the mainland. There are 3 nice sandy beaches on the island, water sports activities, and plenty of restaurants to choose from. BUYER BEWARE: if you order fresh fish, have a discussion about the price of the fish, whether the price is per the menu, or per kilo/pound. We ate at Siete Mares / 7 Seas, and we had a little misunderstanding. The menu listed fresh fish at 500 pesos. When the bill came, our tab was 900 pesos. Our waiter later told us the fish cost 500 pesos per kilo/pound. Just be careful. Regardless of the misunderstanding, we had a great time on Isla Ixtapa, and the fish was delicious.

If you stay at the Sunscape in Ixtapa don't bring your appetite the food is should I say terrible. When your room service food is better than the restaurants then we have a problem. Great staff. Antonio a pool waiter is fantastic, I would hire him in al minute. Very polite can carry on a good conversation and made my significant other feel at home.
The staff is fantastic but again the food is sub par.
This was not my first choice but 8 days of looking for good food to eat became an issue

Ixtapa Island
Mar 2020 • Solo
This was well worth the visit. Our Guide made us aware of local points of interest on the drive up to board our boat over to the Island. Island was a busy hive of swimmers, local boaters and fisherman, adults and children all having fun on the local beach.
On the opposite side of the Island from our bay, thru a quick trail was the snorkelling cove. Lunch was local fare that was delicious: fresh made Guacamole, homemade tortillas, Fresh local fried Fish, and Fajitas Tradicional ! One of the best meals I had while in Ixtapa. We also stopped by the Crocodile Sanctuary on our way back to see them in their natural habitat along with Iguanas, White and PInk Egrets ..... a fun day

Feb 2020
The trip over to the Island was an enjoyable boat ride. We loved the beach, even though small. People were friendly and polite. The water was warm and clear, wish I had snorkeling equipment with me. Lots of colorful fish. Food was good and beer was cheap. The only drawback was, did not like being asked to give tips getting on & off the taxi boats and been hassled to sit and have a bite to eat at every food place. We just wanted to walk and enjoy the place first. Where we ate was great and very friendly
