Both shallow enough to stand in areas and deep enough to snorkel. Barrier reef minimizes the Ocean waves so it is not very rough at the beach. P.A. has installed additional underwater rock barriers to help minimize the beach erosion, keeping the sane on the...More

Beautiful white sand beach, perfect for long walks! The sand texture does vary between grainy and powdery, but you can walk barefoot comfortably along the entire length. Access points are found where the marina meets the ocean and also behind Rick’s Sportfishing.

I love this beach and have been here many times. In April it was not so great, but with this visit in December it was free of any seagrass, had calm stunning turquoise water and has been successfully widened by the Omni which had previously...More

They are slowly restoring the beach from the hurricanes and the jetty that changed the beach shape. The snorkeling right off the beach is great and the reefs are coming back as well. Rays, turtles, fish of all kinds. And very safe since it isn't...More

We love this beach! The water is clear and calmer than a lot of areas when the seas are rough. It also has an area blocked off for little kids to play in very very calm water. The snorkeling is very good by the reef!

We love this area for its beautiful quiet beach. We are never bothered nor pestered and feel safe in the water and on shore. Glad to see the work is being done to preserve the sand and help to keep things healthy.

especially when I have it all to myself. Don't really want to say too much because Akumal Bay is now ruined thanks to the hoards of snorkel tours...

We were here 5 years ago and snorkeled everyday. Both of my children learned to swim at Fatima Bay (thank you salt water. Thank you ocean) We arrived this time to find the unsightly barriers and a good part of the beach washed away. The...More

There is a public access to Fatima Bay, beside the dive shop. Past the Omni hotel and the shops to the left of Omni, there is a dive shop, walk the pathway onto the beach. You can also access it through the lobby of the... More

yes the beaches are sandy - but it's not a powdery sand. You will need water shoes to access the beach unless you go in by the breakwalls near the Omni hotel. I wouldn't recommend entering anywhere else as the bottom is... More
