A small group of us visited Elafonissi in 2014, and I've since returned once more. This is arguably the nicest beach in Europe, with water almost transparent. White sands, expansive, and with great shallows for the kids to play in, I can't think of a...More

It was worth the ride! Beautiful place, pink sand and clear water. We had a good time. It’s a must visit in Crete.

It’s a long day trip there and back from the North of the island and it’s just not worth it. It’s under serviced, insufficient shade and generally not swimmable. Its get the full force of the southeasterly winds too whereas northern Crete is better sheltered....More

What a lovely beach! The pink sand was adorable and if you want some food it's just around the corner. Take a dipp in the ocean or turn around and walk in the "warmer parts" right behind you.

This is a very beautiful beach but you have to drive over the mountains to reach it from anywhere else on Crete. The roads are excellent with gorgeous scenery and I enjoyed the journey so much I did it again on a motorbike, but, given...More

This is one of the nicest beach in Crete but far from the most popular towns. It is a large beach area with shallow spots for family and some waves at other spots. Nice place to walk around.

Hired a car and drove here up and down and around mountains, pretty harrowing lol. On the advice of our excellent hotel reception staff. Now I've been to the Barrier Reef and this little place is a gem, it's beautiful pink, black and white sands...More

Great beach in a small scale, resembles a lot like east Crete and almost a Chryssi Island south of Ierapetra but more crowded, most enjoyed off season!

The roads are in very poor condition - no guard rails with very steep inclines. After 2 hours driving in these conditions, we were expecting a gorgeous beach. The beach was very average and extremely busy. There are more beautiful beaches (Stravos) closer to Chania.
